the best
This book has totally changed my life and the choices I make each day. The book is easy to read and very realistic about how little changes can make a big impact. Green Clean: The Environmentally Sound Guide to Cleaning Your Home20 reviews
Linda Mason Hunter, Mikki Halpin

This book paid for itself
Tonight is New Year's Eve. My kitchen drain became severely clogged. I am against using chemical drain cleaners for environmental reasons. After a couple of hours of plunging, I decided to call a plumber in the morning (New Year's Day) and pay the holiday fee. As a last resort, I got out this book and tried their environment-friendly recipe for cleaning drains (boiling water, vinegar, and baking ...

How to Shit in the Woods: An Environmentally Sound Approach to a Lost Art18 reviews
Kathleen Meyer

Ten Speed Press, 1994

Finally ... a great help for the novice woodsman
Few experiences do more to mar the outdoorsy afternoon or the 8 day backpack trek than stepping over a log and discovering your expensive waffle-stompers are filled with the leavings of another hiker. The problem is as old as mankind. At least, it's as old as mankind after he began noticing what was between his toes. The Bible addressed the problem, probably in the first surviving form, by ...

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Solar Power for your Home, 2nd Edition (Complete Idiot's Guide to)6 reviews
Dan Ramsey, David Hughes

Alpha, 2007

To be fair...
To be fair, I have not read this book. Why 5 stars? The book is a for-profit venture by the author, so recovery of time, effort, & energy is important for revenue reasons. So why write this review? After spending nearly 12-18 hours perusing AMAZON's book list on solar energy and photovoltaic systems, I was frustrated! None of the reviews on any single book seemed to be convincing enough to make ...

Foregoing knowledge of the existance of this text was unkown, until it was needed in an emergent situation on site. At that time a stingray injury required our immediate attention.
