Fraud Examination (with ACL CD-ROM)6 reviews
W. Steve Albrecht, Conan C. Albrecht, ...

South-Western College Pub, 2008

Great book for students in accounting.
As soon as I started reading this book, I had no problems keeping up with the assigned readings in my class. The examples of what people will do to decieve others and themselves are gut wrenching, but give a true picture of what people do. This book has made me consider specializing in fraud.

Pocket Companion for Physical Examination & Health Assessment (Pocket Companion)4 reviews
Carolyn Jarvis

Saunders, 2007

Great handheld reference for nursing students!
I use this handheld book for quick references at clinicals and in class. It has great color illustrations and is very easy to read. The full sized text was assigned in my assessment class so I went ahead and bought the handheld. I would reccomend it to any nursing student. It covers everything, and at the end it has a full scale assessment in detail that I found very helpful on my final grade ...

Physical Examination of the Spine and Extremities19 reviews
Stanley Hoppenfeld

Appleton & Lange, 1976

Classic, gold standard
There is only one Hoppenfeld. For what it is, it's the best. It's all diagnosis. Not a word on treatment. But it gives a good review of not just the physical exam but also the underlying anatomy and biomechanics. Two other books are worth getting. Magee's Orthopedic Physical Assessment is a good background book to have on your shelf. It's written by a physical therapist, so the perspective ...

Great Pocket Mosby!
I have this and the large hardcover textbook. This pocket version is great and fits nicely into my coat pocket when I am in clinic. Although it's not as comprehensive as the big Mosby's, it's definitely handy.

Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RNŽ Examination (Saunders Comprehensive Review for Nclex-Rn)113 reviews
Linda Anne Silvestri

Saunders, 2007

Fantastic Book!!
I just bought this book to study for the NCLEX-RN and am very happy I did. There was about 4 questions out of the 80 I received on the actual test that were almost identical to questions from this book. The other girl I know who bought this book only got 75 questions on the NCLEX and said only great things about the book. If you want to decrease your chances of not passing the boards, BUY THIS ...

Good choice!
I am a pediatric nurse, RN working in a busy outpatient department. I am also a Pediatric instructor at City College of San Francisco. I found this book to be a great and quick reference. The book is divided into sections by systems which I find to be helpful. The pictures are great and they have boxes that will highlight key points and pediatric pearls; which highlight key physical findings and ...

United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination29 reviews
John J. Newman

Amsco School Pubns Inc, 2003

Probably the best book out there
This book was recommended to my class by my APUSH teacher who was a former college professor. She was right in her assertion that this book is better than any other review book out there for AP US History. This book will give you a concise explanation of events and their significance, give you sample questions, and practice DBQ's and FRQ's for each individual section. Me being the procrastinator ...

The Examination (Sunburst Book)11 reviews
Malcolm Bosse

Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR), 1996

A comprehensive review of this book
The Examination, written by Malcolm Bosse, is a gripping adventure novel with two main characters, brothers, with two different ambitions. The story is set in the Ming Dynasty, sometime after the rule of the great emperor of Yangle, but "his successors had grown weak, until now the whole country was again facing disaster"(Bosse 89). Lao Hong, 15, the younger brother, is "born under the sign of ...

Excellent evidence based text.
From the introduction of basic concepts such as likelihood ratios and predictive values to the simple table format with the always beautiful Netter illustrations, this is the ortho exam text to have. Concise, quick resource material for special tests.
With the voluminous amount of "special tests" out there, this book is a concise, quick resource material to gauge effectivity of common orthopedic tests employed. As mentioned, it is evidence based and it grades the tests for merit regarding its sensitivity/specificity in ruling in/out specific orthopedic conditions. The book includes step by step written instruction with pictures in performing ...

Principles of Fraud Examination1 review
Joseph T. Wells

Wiley, 2008

This Is the Textbook version of Corprate Fraud
This book is excellent and very readable. It is the textbook version of Corporate Fraud Handbook: Prevention and Detection by the same author which costs less. So unless you are using this in class or teach from it get the Corporate Fraud Handbook...it costs less. Either way you won't be sorry for having the book. It is worth it.

The Art of Cross-Examination (New Edition)26 reviews
Francis Wellman

Book Jungle, 2007

I give it to every one of my new associates
As soon as they're hired, each of my new associates always recieves this book as a gift. The reason for this is twofold. On the one hand this book, dating from more than a century ago, imparts the kindly sensibilities the practice of law once had (and really, should still have). On the other hand, this book is masterful in its treatment of the process of cross examining witnesses. ...
