One of my children's favorites!
I can not tell you how many times my children (3 & 4) have me read this story. It is adorable and funny while also teaching them about being jealous. How can you go wrong?

A unique journey
This road Odyssey through Islamic America is facinating, and will be enjoyed by those who are quite new to this matter as much as by those who are already familiar with the deep facts and legends regarding the presence of the Islamic faith in America. A talented author (sort of a story teller like Slick Rick or GhostFace), Knight is sharing his car and greyhound trips, his questioning and faith, ...

Tender Romance With A Hint Of Suspense,
Brown-Eyed Girl by Mariah Stewart, was one of my favorite Mariah Stewart books. The romance is there but it isn't as heated as some of the other romance novels out today...NOT a bad thing mind you it's just different, touching actually. I enjoyed it.

A Must Read Book About Surviving Abuse (A+ Grade)
There are not many books that can effect you so much that you can hardly bare to start reading a new one. Or you just simply sit and stare into space because you are trying to hold back tears and figure out why such a book has affected you the way that it did. The "real" Robert Gould Shaw is in these pages
If, like me, you have seen the film "Glory", where Matthew Broderick plays Col. Robert Gould Shaw, white commander of the black 54th Massachusetts Regiment during the Civil War, you will see only a brief a glimpse of who Shaw was in his short life. Broderick does a masterful job of capturing some of Shaw's personality, but if you want to get inside this young man's head and find out who he really ...

I almost peed my pants
This book was hilarious, as all Hank books are! The best part is the sleep talking scene--"foggy doggy mumbo jumbo". This book was also incredibly dumb but so funny I almost peed my pants. Read this book if you want something light and funny.

The Case of the Anonymous (and Horrified) Client
36th Perry Mason Mystery written in 1950. Openings of Mason Mysteries are always strange, but this book's opening is rather unusual. When Mason has a pleasant time at a night club, he receives a phone call from an anonymous woman who urgently asks his help for a seemingly not-so-urgent matter. Mason ordinarily tosses away such an anonymous request, but he is moved by the woman's frantic, ...

perfect for classic tale introduction
My son (age 7) is just getting into reading. He loves fantasy, but not "cool" fantasy. For example, he likes Harry Potter over Artemis Fowl. He grooves on this series, as opposed to the Myth-O-Mania series. Perhaps it's because he isn't quite old enough for the sarcasm in the other books, but books that take fantasy seriously are up his alley. This book takes the Odyssey seriously. This first ...

Eager Red-eyed Tree Frog reader
The cover photograph of an alert red-eyed tree frog immediately captures attention and invites one into the book. The close-up photographs are of great clarity and interest with one or two sentences of simple text for each one. Shown are some other animal life forms in the frog's habitat. These are introduced as are the frog's daily cycles, its prey, and its enemies. It shows how the frog ...

Eric Rohmann's imagination is a place I'd like to live in. His imagery is stunning in The Cinder-Eyed Cats. He has created a book that you will pick up again and again, if only to flip through the beautiful images. It will become a well-loved part of your library. This book is a small boy's dreamlike journey to an island inhabited by the cats. He flies there in a boat and falls asleep. That's ...

At Times Difficult To Read But An Essential Viewpoint
This book was at times difficult to read as any book indictive of both American Domestic and Foriegn policy. History is not a pretty and noble rehash of heroic figures and landmark events. It is ugly and brutal, and the people who are called heroes are usually either not as heroic as we make them out to be or total villians. And the truth is something that we tend to overlook in favor of a ...

This book is an excellent storybook for young children.
The daughter of a wealthy Texas rancher, Farethee Well, uses a black-eyed pea to find her true love. This story is an excellent read-to-me book for children ages 4-9. The story is a parody of the fairy tale, Princess and the Pea. It is full of the language of the West and invites both boys and girls into the story for a lively tale.

Great Short Fiction
One of the best short fiction books to come out in years. Don't bother reading the summaries because they make the book sound like the rantings of a space case. But I swear the prose comes together to create a series of gorgeous moments that come together into a beautiful, fun, and sad whole. My girlfriend and I read these stories out loud to each other as bedtime stories, and both of us read ...

I think Scratch was exciting and romantic in this book.
I feel Scratch had to have closure on the past as he had to find out the three men he first road with had in deed betrayed him and took his firs and left him to fend for his self. I am glad Scratch found the men and set things right. We need more of Titus C. Bass pleasd don't let him fade into the sunset.
