Case in Point:Complete Case Interview Preparation - 5th edition 45 reviews Marc P. Cosentino
Burgee Press, 2007
Start your case prep here! I recommend Case in Point for 2 main reasons: It is both practical and thorough. The simulated cases give the novice a sense for the given-and-take of a case interview. And Cosentino's "Ivy Case System" helps non-MBAs to get grounded in the broad classes of issues that companies, and hence consultants, face.
My advice: Kick-start your case interview preparation with this guide, and then ...

The Fifth Discipline: The Art & Practice of The Learning Organization 27 reviews Peter M. Senge
Doubleday Business, 2006
Systems thinking, organization This book is excellent. Written very well. I was hooked after the first two chapters. This book helps one see the long term results from small short term thinking. I am still in the process of reading this book. I am excited to learn more about organizational learning and the many other themes the books details.

Pathophysiology: The Biologic Basis for Disease in Adults And Children Fifth Edition 14 reviews Kathryn L. McCance, Sue E. Huether

Outstanding I entered a graduate level nursing class with nothing more than high school biology (that was decades ago) and was presented with the daunting task of reading the entire book. I wasn't sure about successfully completing the course until realizing that this textbook was one of the best I've ever come across. The material was well-organized and the text easy to follow. The authors made good use of ...

Clinically Oriented Anatomy (5th Edition) 62 reviews Keith L Moore, Arthur F Dalley
Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2005
Excellent Text! This is an excellent text no matter what health profession you are in. I very rarely read the text. The pictures accompanied with the tables are basically what I used. You would see the picture and have a table of origin, insertion, action and nerve. If you really want to go into depth then you can read it. Moore did a great look at and then I would recommend a real life atlas such as Rohen to ...

Influence: Science and Practice (5th Edition) 125 reviews Robert B. Cialdini
Allyn & Bacon, 2008
Science of Compliance - Extremely Important and Useful Book This is one of my favorite social psychology books. It is about compliance. It is about influencing others.
It is probably one of the most important works available to the general public regarding the science of compliance. How to get customers, counterparties in negotiation, etc. to be primed to act in a targeted way (i.e., to get them to say "Yes", or to do something you want, etc.).

Concise with current views on life development psychology. I used this book in our Life Development Psychology. In the course of my study, everything I needed to know is in the book. Plain English for Lawyers (5th Edition) 13 reviews Richard C. Wydick
Carolina Academic Press, 2005
One of those style books that ranscebds its genre. I'm a lawyer who is considered a wordsmith by colleagues and judges. This is one of the most important books I've ever encountered. I was exposed to it in my first law school year's writing class, and its lessons have remained with me since. Banish the passive voice! (unless deliberately and thoughfully chosen and used). This is not merely a key to fluidity in writing, but in a sense a moral ...
