Fantastic
I've been in IT for over 25 years, and in that time I've read a lot of technical books. "File System Forensic Analysis" is not only the best book I have read on computer forensics, it's probably the best technical work in ANY field I've ever read. It's thoroughly researched, clearly written, and contains virtually no fluff. The numerous rave reviews it has received are well-deserved. My ...

Worth it's weight in gold
This is the perfect book for those of us who are self-taught VBA developers. This book is especially appropriate for beginning VBA developers. I learned so much from this book that will help me do my job better by writing more solid applications. I cannot recommend this book enough for anyone who plans on writing Excel applications that need to have a truly professional advantage.

In addition we get nice commentary, a bit of wisdom and some great poetry. What runs through this book most of all is passion. This guy is passionate about his culture and his food! Superb
Finally, an actionscript guide that is superb in its production! My hat is off to Colin and Gary for this detail-oriented volume that has cleared the smoke out of my head and has made a programmer out of an artist. Bravo!!!

A Breed Apart (Moo)
Like Gary Larson and Tom Tomorrow, people either "get" Max Cannon or they don't. If you "get" him, this collection is invaluable. If not, maybe there's a Mallard Filmore collection out there somewhere. The Family Circus is always good, too. For an anti-Family Circus, non-politically correct good time, Red Meat is a great read. Is it political? Everything's political. This is just a little ...

Ka-click...it is so very nifty!
Ah...Sluggy Freelance. One of my many, many, MANY addictions. For those who don't spend at least part of every day checking out the latest adventures, SLUGGY FREELANCE: IS IT NOT NIFTY? is the essential reading. Our heroes are Torg (blond, dumb, web-site designer) and Riff (blond, ponytail, trenchcoat, builds stuff). Our heroines are Zoe (brunette neighbor of Torg and Riff) and Gwynn (Zoe's best ...

Jim Butcher just busted my budget!
I bought White Knight because I had a vague memory of reading one or two other Dresden books from the library. See, I have this rule - if I read more than 3 of an author's books from the free library, I feel I owe the author some royalties and buy a couple of his/her books (paperback, of course, given my budget). Now that I've just finished White Knight, I'm going to have to buy all of the ...

Best $12 I ever spent!!!
I bought this book on cheap clearance after the original publisher went out of business -- the best $12 I ever invested. Remembering even 10% of this book makes you better than 90% of Oracle developers, modelers and architects. Mr. Kyte's real world experience and reliance on solid examples instead of folklore makes this light-years ahead of any other Oracle book; it's the only Oracle book I ...

Absolutely the Best
I must say that Lynda is, hands down, the best instructor I've ever come across on the printed page. I've been using Dreamweaver for over two years and I learned so much from this book. The chapters and exercises were so concise, so ordered and really a lot of fun. I recommend this book whole-heartedly!

2nd edition even better than first
I have the first edition and got the second edition immediaetly. With the second edition, Stanek has done a great job! This book is well written, easy to follow and concise, yet packed with lot's of useful information and hints and tips for Windows 2000. I consider myself a fairly expert Windows admin, but still learned quite a lot from this book. Like other Windows books that Stanek has written, ...

Like most people, I thought I knew a bit about self protection...that is, until I read this book. It taught me how little I knew and completely blew apart the flawed common myths about what to do if you are confronted with a bad situation. If you or someone you know is thinking of "carrying" then do yourself a favor and read this book before you end up behind bars wondering how the hell you got ...

great book for a high level understanding of COM
This is one of my favorite books. This book gave me an excellent understanding of COM architecture. It's concise and has just the right amount of info. If you are looking for a ready made set of code sample to cut & paste in your project or if you are more interested about 'how' than 'why' of COM then this book is not for you. I have recommended this book and also lent my copy to many. I couldn't ...

I am a Microsoft Certified Trainer and has been working more or less day and night for three years - in labs, in theory, in real-world and in class - with Windows 2000, Active Directory and Group Policy. LEARN ABOUT MULTIPLEXING
This is the only book I've read that refers to multiplexing and mirring the control file in words you can actually understand! I now understand the impact of both techniques, and I can make a quick decision on how best to use the features. You'll want this book after being exposed to all the other material on Oracle, because then you can appreciate the subject matter. There tends to be a ...

Wow! This is a GREAT book for the graphic/web designer wanting to learn actionscript. I own or have read many others that don't cover the basics or the thought processes behind writing in a scripting language. Most books on this topic started out over my head with little explaination and were accompanied by buggy and/or old code. With clear and consice writing, Philip uses the first half of the ...

Good Book
I really enjoyed this book. Being an avid reader I can tell by reading the first few pages if I am going to enjoy a book and this one interested me from the start. I would definitedly like to see some more "Cheetah Files". The characters were intersting and believeable. Just the right kind of action and intrigue.
