Great Reference Book
Great book, great price, and it arrived before I knew it- in three or four days. This was my first Amazon purchase, as I received a gift certificate for my birthday. I was amazed to find this book at such a great price, about a third less than the list price. This is the latest edition, just updated in 2007, with new photos and information. Great reference book, or you can read it from cover ...

Same faires in the all the small books
Beautiful book - I am painting a mural for my daughter's room and wanted to get all the images possible so I bought all the books by this author thinking I was getting a menagerie. But I wasted $ on shipping both ways when I had to send them back upon seeing the smaller tree, flowers, and seasons books were all put together in one place. Just wanted others to know that this large hardback pretty ...

An Historical Fiction Treasure!
I found this historical fiction text to be absolutely enthralling! It has not only provided me with hours of enjoyable, page-turning reading, but has also given me great insight into my Polish ancestry and heritage. The strength, spirit, and heart of the Polish people--MY people--is wonderfully portrayed within the pages of this book. I'm so looking forward to receiving Mr. Martin's sequel, ...

AWESOME BOOK FOR THE HEALTH CONSCIOUS IN GENERAL!!!!
Thanks so much for writing your book and making yourself accessible to people all over the world who are seeking help and answers with regard to arthritis. You really helped someone I know both through your book and through your phone consultation with her. I have read your book and the way you have met adversity in your life is so admirable and inspiring. You, to my eye, are like the ...

Wonderfully helpful for mamas thinking about tandeming
This book really helped me sort out what was best for our family when I was pregnant while nursing a 2-year-old. What I liked about the book is that it is, as much as possible, based on research rather than opinion. So many health care professionals advise their pregnant patients to wean their nurslings, regardless of age, when this advice is completely unsupported by evidence. I also was very ...

I'd love an update!
I read this with jaw agape most of the time. The main reason for this embarrassing state of affairs was the CITES ridiculousness that crops up again and again. Can people in positions of power REALLY be so stupid? Well, yep, they can, sadly enough for the thousands of plants that are destroyed in the name of "development," illegal to save by conservationists. But the people Hansen meets are ...

great picture book for adults
a friend lent this book to me quite a while ago when i was down and out. i'd been feeling the same way - a little lost about life in general - so i decided to look it up and it was as moving as the first time i read this book. a story about love and life and growing and learning who you really are, these cutesy characters and handwritten words are simple, yet powerful enough to reach even the ...

Fun projects, well-made book
This is a great book for ages 8 through 14. The shrinky-dink projects range from easy to very hard and there is enough variety of pictures from which to choose. The book itself is very sturdy.

What a Trip!
Whooowee! What a ride this story takes you on...unbelievable! Not only is it a roller coaster of a ride, but it has characters that you just fall in love with, even ol' meany Aunt Audrey who really doesn't hate Peggy after all. This book is like a wide beacon on dark seas because it shows how we can brighten up our beliefs and change society and fix all the inhumanity we often put on others. I ...

Hard to put down
I needed something to read during the benchmarks, so I ran to the library during passing time and grabbed the first book I could find on mushing (I'm an addicted musher). I had a hard time putting it down. The pictures were wonderful, and the story was great. It was a pretty fast read, I finished it that day, but I enjoyed it. I've reread it twice since I bought my own copy.

Lost and Found
I was in JR. High school in upstate NY, when this book first touched me. And it did touch me so very deeply. I had been removed from my parents' care and placed in a private school mainly for abused girls. This book was like a lifeline to me. In it's pages, I found courage and a willingness to survive even the worst of my inner turmoil. Sadly, when I left the school, I was unable to take the book ...

A perfect gift to be given, beautifully written.
Nancy Cobb's book is a most beautifully written manuscript that I have given, again and again, to family and friends who are experiencing a loss in their lives. I keep several on my bookshelf always, which is what prompts this review today -- I need to reorder. It should also be noted that the cover of In Lieu of Flowers is absolutely exquisite. I often put a care package together for someone, ...

Actually, Underdog Aikido ....
Paul Flower's UNDERDOG ADVERTISING is a gem for every small business owner. I especially appreciate Mr. Flower's honesty throughout this book, particular in the anecdote he shares in his introduction, where he reveals how he and his partners realized (to their horror, no doubt) that they themselves had "...fallen into the trap of copying what our bigger competitors ... did--the same trap we were ...

Mr. Heuser accomplished his mission! His book is, indeed, truly inspiring and encouraging! The personalized narrative piqued my interest in exploring each process and project in his home renovation--not just the ones of particular interest to me. I gleaned marvelous insights regarding the use of color and ways to create added warmth and meaning to a space. The before, during and after ...

Incredibly positive message for children
Sally H. Taylor's first children's picture book, The Magic in You!, is an enchanting introduction to an author with volumes of talent. The story tells of a little flower that grows by the roadside. The flower's self-confidence wanes after one of her shiny petals is eaten by a Billy goat, and dims even further when a car runs over one of her leaves. Depressed and lonely, the flower is visited by a ...

The Best book on Ribbonwork!
This is the best book on ribbonwork. It incorporates many beautiful pictures of vintage and some contemporary work. The entire book is instructional (no silly projects to fill the pages!!!). The instructions are excellent and this is as close to a "beginners" introduction to the subject as I have been able to find. At first I was disappointed that there were very few photographs of instructions. ...

Great Pictorial Reference
My husband and I love to collect hostas and although we have numerous varities, over the years we have failed to keep a record of the name and genus of the individual hosta. We plan to do a better job labeling our purchases and this book has already proved to be ...

Neat Book!
I just received this book. I bought it as a birthday gift for an 8 year-old niece. She will love it and so will her 5 year-old sister. In fact, their mother will love making the flowers too. I can see this being a great book for all ages because you can customize the flowers according to your skill level ie. more detail for older kids and simpler designs for younger kids. It looks fun. I ...
