He hides under the cover of the cirque from his human family and friends who think he is dead, when in reality he is a vampire prince. Now the cirque is going to his hometown. Important, importand book.
If you love your children, and you love Science, and maybe you love God, then rush out and buy this book. Other people have mentioned what its about, but what its really about is finding that perfect balance between scientific knowledge and spiriruality. It's also about love, respect and honesty. And its a little about freedom of speech and integrity. If any of these things bother ...

It's how I want to raise my teens
Finally, a book that reflects the way I want to raise my soon-to-be teens, but I didn't know it! I'd read several books, all of which didn't touch a nerve until this one. It also helped me to realize it's time to connect up with other non-judgmental guerilla moms. I don't want to put my teens in a bubble, and then be in denial whenever the bubble bursts behind my back. Instead, I want to ...

excellent, but wanted more...
Being from Toronto, I have always had a keen interest in Rick James' career. Toronto is where he really started on his musical journey. I waited a long time for this book and when I got my hands on it, I couldn't put it down. I liked the honesty, candor of Rick's writing: he put it all on the line, the good and the bad. Great insight and details, along with lots of fab pictures, complete the ...

5 Stars from a Germ Freak Parent
This is a great book to help prevent you and your family from getting sick. When I brought my premature twins home from the hospital I was told it was very important to keep them from getting sick that first year because they were at such a high risk for contracting RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) which can be fatal. This book helped keep the germs away. Despite the unpleasant subject, it is a ...

Quality Literature
This is extremely well written and the story is easy to follow. The story had me smile and cry. The method that Victor Hugo collected the sections of this book is similiar to the style Ayn Rand used in writing Atlas Shrugged-my favorite book. The Man Who Laughs is one I think every Victor Hugo fan would want to read and read again--I loved it!

Victory for the underdogs
FREAKs is a glorious account of the frightful world of the middle school. It places front and center a cast of misfits - the kids that the others mock - the geeks, the nerds, the unpopular, the misshapen. What Scalia does so marvelously is he gives them what they most lack - identity, respect, and perhaps most importantly, he supplies them with allies and solidarity, This a heartwarming and ...

A Tale of Acceptance
"When a boy's first romantic interlude is with Phoebe the Dog-Faced Girl, he feels a need to get out into the world and find a new life. So I thought as I stood in the wings and watched Colonel Kingston introduce the next act. Not that I had anything against Phoebe. She was a sweet girl under all that fur. "Oh, Abel," she whispered prettily whenever I brushed her lips with mine, and perhaps she ...

A truly enthralling ride!
I must admit that even though I had heard about this novel before it was reprinted, I was not very eager to delve into it. I've never been too terribly interested in the murder mystery, "whodunit" genre, and from the synopses I had read, it seemed to be yet another rehashing of a cop style drama. However, I'm very glad I finally did give this novel a chance, for that is a truly misguided ...

Good stories, straight talk, useful advice
What I like about this book is that Kay Hong has that rare capacity of remembering what it was actually like being a teenager and being able to write about it in an honest and fresh way. I think adults will enjoy and linger over stories which remind them of what it was like to be a teen (including the highs and lows of that experience) while young people will enjoy getting some real-life advice ...

An interesting and enjoyable read
I recently read a copy of Rebekah Dunn's "The Spaceship that crashed on the moon" and found it to be an interesting and enjoyable read. It seems ironic that a community can complain about being hated or discriminated against on the one hand, but then seem to have no problem hating or discriminating against other groups.
