Great to see pro hotos
I am an aspiring photographer. I was actually in the book store the other day just browsing and I picked up this book as well as the other 2 in this series (which are on there way). I was very impressed so I came home and got on Amazon. I got mine used (in great shape) for 10 bucks shipped...How can you go wrong there. The reason I purchased this book is because I think it is really good to ...

Guide To Scenic Byways
I purchased this book as I already owned and use the 2nd edition. While I live in Indiana and there are not many scenic byways in this state, I really purchased the book for an annual "Two For The Road" trip I take with my car buddy Larry Cox. The maps for our week long adventures are usually based upon this book and another reference book that I have purchased called "the most scenic drives in ...

Incredible Family Resource
I've had the new atlas for 60 days and find myself looking something up every 2-3 days. It's really been fun looking up remote places like Palmyra Atoll, Kerguelen Island, the Fly River and other obscure places I read about. And now I've found an interesting use for the password protected online atlas as well. The online Atlas gives you high-resolution access to all the Atlas map plates. You ...

Totally awesome guide that rolls through the U.S. geologic areas and the parks occupied within. Nice 5-10 page look at each park, great photos, plenty of details regarding attractions, square miles, trails, fees, etc. Also includes historical details, geologic history, animals and habitat, tips on high traffic vs. low traffic tourist spots, etc. Wonderful book!

This book is very thorough. It introduces you to places in the world, and even in the United States, that you have never heard of or thought existed! Definitely a great coffee table book.

Perfect guide for road Tourist in USA/Canada
I last bought the National Geographic Road Atlas in 1998 for a road trip in the USA/Canada and found it to be excellent. I recently purchased the current version and it is even better with a section devoted to top adventures and national Parks in the USA. I have looked at other road atlases and they don't even come close. For anyone looking at travelling to the USA, Canada or Mexico and hiring ...

Be inspired by the best of the pros
This is truly one of the great books of people pictures, a treasure chest of images truly deserving the self-imposed subtitle of "greatest portraits". Trust me on this. Having spent almost 40 years in the news business as a reporter, photographer and editor, I have some experience in recognizing good pictures and hiring people who can produce good pictures. By any standard, these are great ...

I bought this for my parents for a house warming gift. It is the typical high quality photography associated with National Geographic. Only weakness is that being so large it seems to not be bound extremely well. Has to be handled carefully. Very good.
