Deliciously Different
Neil Gaiman's wonderfully dark The Graveyard Book opens with murder--three members of a family are mysteriously killed by a man named Jack, whose intent was kill all four of the family members. Unfortunately for him, but luckily for us and the child, a toddler escapes the house and makes his way across the street to a graveyard. The inhabitants of the graveyard, long since dead and forgotten, ...

~*Marked Review*~
Zoey Redbird is a normal teenager until she was marked to become a fledgling vampire. Her mom and her mean step-dad act like she has some type of plague and instead of being there for her they make her that much more eager to start her new life. So Zoey runs away to her grandmas' house & from there is taken to "The House of Night" which is a highschool for vampires. It is clear from the minute ...

Excellent Zombie anthology
What could be more enjoyable than a Zombie story anthology? How about enjoying one during and after Hurricane Ike, with no power and candlelight?? How about one that includes three of my all-time fav authors (Dan Simmons, George R. R. Martin and Stephen King)? How about one nearly 500 pages long (at least the ARC is)? How about one edited by John Joseph Adams, who also brought us the anthologies ...

I love it!!!
I finally figured out what captivated me the most and drew me into the book..(after reading the first book). The way that Meyer describes the feelings that Bella has when she sees Edward.... It reminds me so much of how I used to get when I would be around one of my crushes. The words that you fought to describe how you felt then... Meyer put them into understandable passages so that you ...

"I'm not Harry Dresden..."
NOTE: Reading at least 'Blood Rites' and the preceding books in the Dresden Files would be a good idea before reading 'Backup', and my review does contain spoilers for 'Blood Rites'. Jim Butcher's newest book, a twelve thousand word novelette called 'Backup', is a very short story from his Dresden Files series, only this time it's from the point of view of Harry's brother, Thomas. One of the ...

Wonderfully Crafted Book
My daughter loves ghosts, bats, spiders, and anything related to Halloween, so we purchased this book recently. It has been a big hit. Not only is it well written, the illustrations are wonderful. The pictures are so detailed that my daughter is constantly discovering new things in them. She loved "Goodnight Moon," so she can relate to the text as well. This book is incredibly well done. It's fun ...

Amazing!
I'm a huge fan of the Twilight saga, and I have to say that this book was a wonderful ending to a fabulous series. I have been loking forward to Bella becoming a vampire since the 1st book, and was not disappointed - she's beautiful, and her shield gift fits her perfectly, since she always tries to protect the ones she loves. I adored Reneseme and all she brought to the story, and the ...

stories in a lighter vein
What a great idea for an anthology! I picked up this book because I am a big fan of Kevin J. Anderson, -- I was disappointed he doesn't have a story here. These stories range from laugh-out-loud antics (Joe Lansdale, Dond'Amassa, Christopher Welch) to cute twists (Eric James Stone, Jeff Strand, Mark Onspaugh), to just plain enjoyable romps (Lucien Soulban, Jim Butcher). I had never read Jim ...

Great stories for my 5 year old....
I bought this series after reading the positive reviews on Amazon. My five year old son enjoys the stories very much. I personally like how all of the adventures are tied together by the kids' experiences in the tree house. After we finish the first four, I am looking forward to buying the next set.

Exquisitely Crafted
This was my favorite book in the series, with Twilight as a close second. As a reader, you are really brought into the story and get to experience all of the confusion and angst as it happens. I loved the dialogue, how there was humor and commonality between the Edward and Jacob characters. It seemed very authentic to me. The story was crafted with care and the emotional impact of this book made ...

Twilight RULES!
Ok, to all the people that think this book sucks, are totally WRONG! This book is awesome, I have read all 4 books from Bella's point of veiw. And I can't wait for the next four but from Edward's point of veiw to come out. If you like romance, action, and fanasty then this book is for you! I think it is inapporiate for kids of a young age, well, at least the 4th book is! Well, that is all. p.s ...

Very enjoyable
I'm a big fan of the series and so is my daughter. We read this and loved it. I guess, based on the previous reader's comments, there are a few minor quibbles but I'm not the type to go through a book like this with a fine tooth comb. It's got tons of great info and it's entertaining. The price is right and it'll hold us over until the official guide is out.

Awesome vampire series - if you liked Twilight, Blue Bloods, or Peeps, check this one out
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R343IROCYTMTH8 I simply loved this book. In fact, when I finished it, I overnighted the next book in the series - overcoming my native cheapness - because I just had to know what happened next and to have more of the characters. Can't wait for book 3!

As the once-human beasts advance, I try draining magic from the air but there's virtually nothing to tap into. In my own time, these creatures would have been simple to deal with. Here, it's going to be difficult. The lead werewolf snaps at the female. With a howl, she leaps. I unleash the spell as she jumps. It's a choking spell. If it doesn't work, I won't know much about it - she'll be on me in a second, and I'm defenseless. With Beranabus, ...

For the dead travel fast
"Dracula" was not the first vampire novel, nor was it Bram Stoker's first book. But after years of research, Stoker managed to craft the ultimate vampire novel, which has spawned countless movies, spinoffs, and books that follow the blueprint of the Transylvanian count. Eerie, horrifying and genuinely mysterious, this is a book that was crying out for the kind of loving annotation that "The ...
