All That Glitters (Once Upon a Dream Series, No 2)5 reviews
Barbara Jean Hicks

Thorndike Press, 2003

Hooray for Barbara and Pilchuck!
I love the Jan Karon-esque qualities of Barbara's books. I had already visited Pilchick and been introduced to Cindy in Barb's other hometown adventures and now we have become better aquainted. The love, caring, pettiness, quirks, foibles, heroes and crackpots of Smalltown, America are true to life and full of giggles. I plan to visit again and again. More, please!

All That Glitters2 reviews
Thomas Tryon

Dell, 1987

One of the best books I have ever read
I came across this book quite by accident, and couldn't put it down! Blending fiction with real life people, this book is engaging, funny and touching all at once. Tryon's characters come to life right in front of you, and you may find yourself asking "are these REAL people?" A wonderful story, an inside look at the workings of show business and lots of twists. "OH YEAH!"

All That Glitters: A Nick Polo Mystery3 reviews
Jerry Kennealy

St Martins Pr, 1997

Ross McDonald reincarnate!
I'll be up-front: I've known Jerry for about a decade now, as a lawyer hiring him to do "research." It was his experience as a vice cop and later as a firefighter in San Francisco that forms the basis of his bottomless pool of material. As a fan of the classics in detective novels, from Sayers to James and Poe to -- well -- Kennealy, I find his Nick Polo stories of contemporary California ...

All That Glitters4 reviews
Nathan Cannon

AuthorHouse, 2001

This book kept me riveted from start to finish!
I loved this book! I uncharactaristically (for me) read the whole thing in just about one 24 hour period, sleeping only grudgingly. Often I pick up and put down a book a dozen times before I really get into it and finish. Not this time! What a great storyteller we have here in Nathan Cannon-- I felt like I was "one of the guys" right in the middle of the action. Does this author have other ...

Las Vegas: Glitter to Gourmet - Savory and Sensational Recipes from the Junior League of Las Vegas5 reviews
Junior League of Las Vegas

Junior League of Las Vegas Publications, 2001

A Sure Winner from Las Vegas
This book is not only beautiful, it just sparkles with energy. Every recipe that I have tried is just outstanding! I recently had a luncheon and served the Asparagus Tart, salad with the Soy Orange Vinaigrette dressing and Key Lime Cheesecake. The meal was a real hit with my friends and the recipes were so simple that I could easily do it again! The one thing that impresses me most about this ...

Glitter and Doom: German Portraits from the 1920s (Metropolitan Museum of Art Publications)9 reviews
Sabine Rewald, Ian Buruma, ...

Metropolitan Museum of Art, 2006

Long Wait for an Excellent Book
Finally an excellent review of what the first World War did to German culture and psyche. This book lays it all out. Hitler was a logical consequence. Unfortunately the Western world did not pay enough attention to these portentious signs. The book has beautiful color reproductions, great detailed commentary on each artist featured and enaough historical commentary to make it all plausible.

Glitz of the Hamptons (All that Glitters is Not Gold)10 reviews
Janet Berg

Llumina Press, 2007

Down to earth and upbeat
Glitz of the Hamptons takes the reader on the short intense journey of an "insular" character. While the trek is not always comfortable, the protagonist finds his reward. The search for what is most important is always compelling, and Janet Berg, with a style that is straightforward and unembellished, delivers a satisfying tale of surprising depth.

Glitter Girl and the Crazy Cheese4 reviews
Frank Hollon, Mary Grace, ...

MacAdam/Cage, 2006

Excellent book for small children!
We bought Glitter Girl and the Crazy Cheese last week, and our kids loved it. The story is written as a long poem, and it's quite funny following the brief adventure of Glitter Girl chasing a piece of sliced cheese (which was supposed to be her lunch) across town. The illustrations are very good, too. I highly recommend Glitter Girl and The Crazy Cheese. It's a great book for small children.

Jan Brett Night Before Christmas
I LOVE Jan Brett's books! I buy them anytime I see them whether on sale, old ones on Amazon as remainders, or new.. They make great gifts. I have a backup of many to give to children, particularly my granddaughters. The illustrations in this one are so beautiful it is really a keepsake to save as well as enjoy. Give it as a gift and you will make some child very happy and a parent happy, too.

Busy Buddy: A BusyBugz Glitter Book2 reviews
Beth Hardwood

Silver Dolphin, 2003

Buddy is the best
We got this book for my son when he was 8 months old. He didn't like it at first but now we have to read it for him every day. He will pick it out even though its under a pile of other books. He loves the short story and the colorful pages. He will touch the glitter spots as we read the story to him over and over and over again. A definite keeper!

Book to Color Play Set: Princess with Glitter Paints (Play Sets)1 review

Dalmatian Press, 2003

My daughter loves this book!
The glitter paint is great. The illustrations are lovely. There is enough detail to be interesting, not too much detail to make it cluttered.

The Best Easter Basket Ever! (Glitter Tattoos)1 review

Grosset & Dunlap, 2001

My daughter loves this one!
I bought this book as an impulse buy... I'm glad I did. My 2 year old daughter LOVES this book. I have to read it to her at least a half dozen times every day, and as the very last book before she goes to sleep at night. She loves helping me finish the sentence "what do boys and girls love .... JELLYBEANS!"

Busy Ballet School (Glitter Tattoos)1 review

Grosset & Dunlap, 2001

A Little Ballerina's Favorite Gift
With beautiful illustrations, and a simple descriptive story of a day at ballet school, this book is very well done. However, our 4-year-old daughter would tell you that her favorite part is the set of glitter stickers. They are very pretty, and incredibly easy to put on (all you need is a wet washcloth). They stay on all day, but come off with soap in the bathtub. This is a great price and ...

Compact Kids Bible: Glitter Wings2 reviews
Thomas Nelson

Thomas Nelson, 2008

Girls Bible
This Bible is wonderful! I purchased it for my 10yr old as a 'next level' Bible and she absolutely fell in love with it! Very girly but not 'baby-ish' - perfect for a young Christian daughter in those 'in between' years! The reading level is perfect! She definitley does not forget this when we're headed off to church!

All That Glitters1 review

Awe-Struck E-Books, 2008

An Awesome Read
I am an avid reader. I enjoy novels with intrigue and romance. I also enjoy characters that are in the process of change. All that Glitters fits the description. I started reading at 3:00 pm and finished by 8:30 pm. Crystal, Cody, Jackson, Jolie and Harold are still in my mind, so I wouldn't mind a sequence. If you want to take a vacation from your daily activities, live in a little ghost ...

All That Glitters: An Inside Girl Novel (Inside Girl)1 review
J. Minter

Bloomsbury USA Children's Books, 2008

Courtesy of Teens Read Too
Welcome to a new year for Flan. After a fall semester at Stuy, Flan has finally realized that the private school setting is where she belongs. She feels far more comfortable around the girls that she went to Miss Mallard's with. So, with the winter break over, Flan begins classes at Thoney. Thankfully, she has made up with her lost best friend, Camille, when they were both on Thanksgiving ...
