The most helpful book we own
After our one year old was diagnosed with Celiac Disease this was the first book we were told to buy. It is the most helpful book we own and it will continue to be the most helpful book we own as our little one grows up. This book is great at helping with the psychological impact of this disease for our daughters young age, and it continues through her teen years. We are forever grateful for ...

Gluten Free Cooking
This book is full of great recipes, and cooking tips for gluten free cooking. The recipes use a mix of rice, tapioca, and potato flours(you can get these at a local health food store). I loved the white bread recipe, it keeps well for about a week in the fridge, and freezes well to.

Very Informative!!
I highly recommend this book to anybody looking to live the gluten free lifestyle. It's full of knowledgeable facts from a mother of a child with celiac disease. She knows her stuff!!! I read the book and use it often as a reference to foods I should/shouldn't eat. I also love the symptoms and useful advice about living gluten free. I feel much more knowledgeable about the subject after ...

Best SCD cookbook I've used so far
I have this cookbook as well as Breaking the Vicious Cycle, Lucy's SCD Cookbook, and Eat Well Feel Well. This one is my favorite. I love "The World's Best Meat Sauce", which I make thick as recommended for a sloppy joe spooned over the "Basic Bread" recipe. Fantastic! The apple galette disappeared immediately among a group of non-SCD dieters. I also like the cole slaw, and the cappuccino ice ...

Awesome book
This is so much more than a cookbook. It is a dictionary and encyclopedia. This is a gold mind of good nutrition. There are so many tips and great ideas. This is the only book you'll ever need in the kitchen if you want to be the healthiest you can be. And you don't need to spend a ton of money to have the ingredients on hand. The recipes use the same basic ingredients.

A MUST have GF Cookbook!!!
Karen put a lot of effort into this book! We had Thanksgiving at our house and no one noticed that apple pie was GF!!! The green beans with pecan paste is simply fabulous. I was hoping for leftovers of this, but there were none. With this book, we can have pizza night like we used to. Next to try are the cutout cookies. This book has made our lives easier since finding out that both my son and I ...

Non-gluten delectabilities!
After going gluten free a year ago, I thought I'd never bake anything good again. But this book and its predecessor, The Gluten-free Gourmet, changed my mind! Because I'm also sugar free, baking is an extra large challenge. But these recipes along with xylitol sweetener have gotten me back in business. What a great find! Thanks, Bette!

Informative, Up-to-date, and Easy to Understand
I was diagnosed with celiac disease in the fall of 2007, and I immediately went to the library to check out the most recent book on celiac disease. This was it, and it was so excellent I decided to buy a copy to have as a constant reference. This book has the latest information on celiac disease. Dr. Peter Green is the head of the celiac disease center at Columbia University; therefore, he is ...

Gluten Free with Emily
I am a preschool teacher and have a student with Celiac in my class as well as 3 other students with food allergies. I read this book and all of my students loved it! They have asked to hear it again and again. My gluten-free student actually had tears in his eyes the first time I read it and hugged me afterwards. All 15 of my students are aware of their classmates food allergies and this has ...

It points the way to solve many problems
Although Dr. Rosenvolt's book is written in a very practical and easy to understand way, it deals with problems that have not been taken seriouly by many medical professionals. His ability to observe and come to meaningful practical conclusions is evident in what I relay below. It has indeed saved my life as well as my daughter's and grand daughter's. In my case, I had been feeling so week ...

The BEST Wheat Free Cookbook on the market
The Wheat Free Cook is a fabulous resource for the Gluten Free Community. It is thorough in describing the flours and ingredients available. The recipes are quite easy to make, the end product is absolutely delicious and the best thing about the book is that finally there are nutritious recipes to be made, something that is not seen in many gluten free cookbooks. I have had the book for more ...

Great for Children with Celiac Disease!
This has really helped my daughter ( age 5 ) understand Celiac. I wish we had this when she was diagnosed two years ago. This has been a great study on what foods to eat, and how her body reacts to both gluten, and gluten free foods. Some of this is more advanced, but it's a great study to use over and over again. This is a must have book!!!

'Can't do without the lists (of additives) in This Book!
(Gluten-Free For A Healthy Life, by Kimberly A. Tessmer, RD, LD) The very best reason to have a copy of this book is that it provides you with pages and pages of the names of the foods and "additives" that a gluten-intolerant person may and may not eat! I've kept mine on the kitchen counter for constant reference during the last several months. Who would put so much wheat gluten in every ...

Many times I have eaten vegan recipies which are not only bland but unimaginative. When I bought friendly foods over 7 years ago (when I was just turning to a vegetarian lifestyle) I thought I had died and gone to heaven! Very tasty recipes.
This book has recipes that are very good and pretty easy to make. One thing that I really appreciated was that they all use the same flour mixture, and the flour actually has nutritional value, as opposed to having 5 different flours throughout the book that you have to make, or just using a mixture of corn starch and potato starch. If you need to cook gluten-free desserts, I would highly ...

What a great book!
I bought this book because my nephew has celiac and I wanted to help my daughter (age 4) understand why her young cousin can't eat the same gluten-based products as her (e.g., Cheerios). The story and illustrations are delightful. She likes me to read it to her at bedtime but I didn't know if she really comprehended the concept of gluten-free until we were making a snack one day and she picked up ...
