Gnome Away from Home9 reviews
Andrews McMeel Publishing

Andrews McMeel Publishing, 2006

Very Cute
Kinda expensive but what the heck. Bought this to replace my little plaster gnome that was given to me by a German friend years ago. Poor little guy was getting paint chipped and battered. This here new one, is adorable, weightier and sturdier for many years of travel and pocket stashing. It's a nice gift item. Keep the gnome, the book will probably get lost and you won't really miss it. This ...

Tom Bohager

Greenleaf Book Group Press, 2009

The Best Kept Secret
Everything You Need To Know About Enzymes is a book written by a caring professional who understands the body and how enzymes promote better health. He's taken so much time to learn and create excellent chapters and sections that offer people real life solutions. You would think that enzymes only help with digestion, reflux and GI disorders. But what I love most about the book is that Bohager ...

Gnomes 30th Anniversary Edition24 reviews
Wil Huygen

"Harry N. Abrams, Inc.", 2006

Super fun book
I borrowed this book from a friend and found it absolutely enchanting. The pictures are wonderful, very detailed, realistic and whimsical. Also the text assumes very matter-of-factly that gnomes do indeed exist. I highly recommend it for anyone who is interested in fairy-tale creatures. The description says it is recommended for ages 9-12. I disagree. Adults will find this very entertaining.

A Favorite Computer Book - Highly Recommended for Techies & Newbies
There are numerous reasons to recommend this book, but it looks like many reviewers have covered the material. I just want to note that I constantly reference and use this book, and I am always recommending it, to friends ! I own a lot of computer books, most of which are for Linux, and this has become one of my favorites. Any time I thought, "There must be a way to....." I later found the ...

Sculpting Mythical Creatures out of Polymer Clay: Making a Gnome, Pixie, Halfling, Fairy, Mermaid, Gorgon ...5 reviews
Dinko Tilov, Boris Tilov

Quarry Books, 2009

The Next to Mythical Polymer
I loved Dinko's first book, Creating Polymer Clay Fantasy Creatures, and learned a lot and had lots of fun. I'm just starting to explore this new one. He always gives great step by step directions and great photos to actually show what's being done, lots and lots of photos. The projects are great and new techniques are taught in each project and used later on again and again. The books offer ...

UNIX: The Complete Reference, Second Edition (Complete Reference Series)1 review
Kenneth Rosen, Douglas Host, ...

McGraw-Hill Osborne Media, 2006

reliable reference
I sure hope you don't intend to read this cover to cover. It functions best as a reliable and comprehensive reference to unix. For both system administrators and programmers. Yes, if you are the latter, you still have to deal with the operating system, even if you hide inside a programming language most of the time. The various unix shells are evenhandedly described. The Bourne shell. The c ...

Linux Pocket Guide42 reviews
Daniel J. Barrett

O'Reilly Media, 2004

Highly recommended
This is the book every Linux person should have. Great introductory part for those unfamiliar with the Linux commands and a detailed part describing all the important Linux commands under heaven, all in a very small book you can carry anywhere. In fact you cannot go wrong with technical books from O'Reilly because they only publish the best.

Reading specialist uses the complete set of these readers
I am a children's reading specialist and author (Teaching Kids To Read for Dummies). I use these short chapter books with kids who have mastered three or four sentences per page type books and are ready for more. When your child reads one book in the Bailey School Kids series you can be pretty sure she'll want to read the rest.

Cat & Gnome3 reviews
Graham Roumieu

Blue Q, 2008

wonderfully wacky!
I got it for my sister for Christmas - so it was 8 months ago when I read it. I do remember the funny little drawings on the page and the absurdity of it, and completely cracking up while I held my place in the book. On the other hand, my dad read it and didn't quite understand what I thought was so funny. So I'll add I'm 48 and my dad is 75. And last time my boyfriend and I were over at ...

Wee Little Garden Gnome (Running Press miniature editions)14 reviews
Alison Trulock

Running Press Miniature Editions, 2005

A cheery little pal
Ever since I saw the Foreign Film, Amelie, I have been in love with garden gnomes. I would love to have one in my yard, but since I live in an apartment, I can't. This is the perfect trade off! It is small enough to fit in a suitcase (or pocket) and fun to have in photos. It is a silly little thing but always makes me smile.

Secrets of the Gnomes2 reviews
Wil Huygen, Rien Poortvliet

Random House Value Publishing, 1987

Dazzling, Beautiful, Awe-Inspiring, Thought-Provoking . . .
I was fortunate enough to get a mint-condition copy of this out-of-print book, a sequal to the New York Times #1 bestseller masterpiece GNOMES. While that book was more of an encyclopedia format, this is an actual storybook (though still complete with pages and pages of informarion on Gnomes' lives), and a damned good one at that. In fact, this is on my Top Three list of favorite books of all ...

Dragonfly and the Web of Dreams (The Fairy Chronicles)10 reviews
J. H. Sweet

Sourcebooks Jabberwocky, 2007

A Great Adventure!
I wasn't sure what to make of these books in the Fairy Chronicles series by J.H. Sweet. I know that some girls love princesses and fairies and unicorns, but I don't think that my eight-year-old daughter and I are in that camp. We were both hooked in the first chapter, because this is not just a story about a feminine mythical creature. It's an adventure story. It's also a story of ...

Nuts about Gnomes
This book had been listed as in "very good" condition. Never having purchased a book thru the internet, I was very skeptical. The book was very important to me and I did not want to be disappointed. I woould have rated its condition as "EXCELLENT". The delivery time was rapid. I was grinning for quite some time.

Foundations of GTK+ Development (Expert's Voice in Open Source)15 reviews
Andrew Krause

Apress, 2007

The best book I ever had
This book is always available online free of charge but I like to have a paper copy. It has a great mix with theory, examples, etc and is great for "learning by doing". I had this book for some time, and I like it very much. It is great both as a reference (but there you could use Internet instead) and as a study material.
