Williams-Sonoma Bride & Groom Cookbook: Recipes for Cooking Together7 reviews
Gayle Pirie, John Clark

Free Press, 2006

BEST of the Bride & Groom Cookbooks
I have gone through the Betty Crocker Bride & Groom Cookbook, the Better Homes and Garden Bride & Groom Cookbook and many more trying to find one that would have great pointers for cooking for two as well as great dishes. This cookbook has it all. The recipes are great classic dishes and the recipes range from breakfast foods to desserts. I highly recommend this cookbook.

Nora Roberts

Silhouette, 2008

Love them
Nora Roberts is one of my favorite authers, her Macgregor series is one of the best. I think I own all and I can't seem to give them away. I've read them over and over and it still feels like the first time. I especially love Daniel, he get in every bodys business, but he means well.

The Engaged Groom: You're Getting Married. Read this Book.9 reviews
Doug Gordon

Collins Living, 2006

Pracitcal AND funny, a good mix
This book has a lot of good practical advice, like when to get a marriage license. For someone getting married out of state, this was very helpful. I also thought some of the money-saving tips were unique and not your standard fare. There was a part on dealing with problem guests that has been very helpful since we've had to deal with a lot of these types of people and as the groom I usually ...

The Groom to Have Been1 review
Saher Alam

Spiegel & Grau, 2008

Beautifully Drawn Characters and Culture
This book draws a rich picture of a 30-year old Indian man who goes back and forth between modern American life and his extended Indian family and culture. The main plot line is his choice to seek a wife through an arranged marriage, and the contrast between how he proceeds through that process and his tempestuous relationship with a female cousin/friend similar in age to him. The book raises ...

BEST ENGAGEMENT GIFT!
My husband and I received this gift as an engagement gift many years ago. The recipes are great! Probably not the most healthy version of some of the common dishes but very yummy! Since then, this has been my number one gift of choice for newly engaged couples.

Shandon Fowler

Quirk Books, 2007

I bought three!
I orignially got this for my fiance but I started reading it before I saw him and I had to finish it. I bought another 2 for my co-workers who will be getting married soon as well. It's a fun book and it talks about things that as a bride I wouldn't necessarily have thought of.

Dale Groom's Texas Gardening Guide - Revised Edition (Dale Groom's Texas Gardening Guide)7 reviews
Dale Groom

Cool Springs Press, 2002

Great Color, maybe not enough variety
I purchased this book after wanting to revamp my lawn. Each page is filled with great detail on each common plant, vine, etc. found in Texas. I found it helpful that it lists the common bugs (if any) that would possibly attack the plant. The book is filled with huge colorful pictures. It is a lot more helpful than the original book Dale Groom has (I have both). I recommend this book to any ...

A Great Read!
Spencer Becket returns home from the war having lost a portion of his memory. It doesn't seem to matter much to him until a fiery redheaded woman appears at his home late one night, announcing that he is the father of her unborn child. Being the honorable man that he is, he immediately, unquestioningly, insists that they marry. Instrumental in keeping Spencer and the other soldiers alive after ...

The Clueless Groom's Guide : More Than Any Man Should Ever Know About Getting Married17 reviews
Peter van Dijk

McGraw-Hill, 2003

Excellent Stuff
My mother-in-law gave me this book as a gift shortly after I popped the question. It was full of really great stuff, and it was fun to read. I would wholeheartedly recommend it. "Mom" was also super-cool enough to give me a couple of other excellent gifts -- believe it or not -- that I would also VERY STRONGLY recommend: the book "Men Are From Mars, Women are from Venus" , the DVD "New Sex ...

The Pocket Idiot's Guide to Being a Groom, 3rd Edition (Pocket Idiot's Guides)9 reviews
Jennifer Lata Rung, Mark Rung

Alpha, 2006

one of the best groom's guides
This may seem little a silly book to own, a book about how to be a groom, but reading through it I found that there is a lot of value to be found in this book. The argument has been made that the information contained in this book is stuff that men should already know and that it is common sense. Perhaps it is, but most men (or maybe just me) do not come ready made with the knowledge of what it ...

A Groom with a View (Jane Jeffry Mysteries, No. 11)13 reviews
Jill Churchill

Avon Books, 2000

Bed & Breakfast Heaven? Ghosts of Monks? Buffalo Heads, & Pillow Pops?
A sort of Gothic romance is opened with wedding preparations, by Jane... Bad-boy-gigolo has already met and matched Daddy's girl... A monastery has long ago morphed into a hunting lodge... Jane and Shelley snuggle into a dim, dingy setting with old host Joe, an apparent "grounds guy" minus hospitality, plus grumbling growls... It was easy for me to get into this one, partially riding on Jane's ...

The Spanish Groom by Lynne Graham (Harlequin Large Print)
Pick a comfy spot where you can laugh out loud without disturbing anyone and settle in to devour one of the best light-hearted romances ever ... highly recommended, five stars just doesn't seem good enough for this book! The Knot Guide for the Groom1 review
Carley Roney

Chronicle Books, 2005

Better books out there...
I did my homework before my recent wedding and bought three books. This one is pretty basic and didn't cover anything I couldn't find out easily online or through friends. For better resources I recommend Esquire's Things a Man Should Know About Marriage and The Engaged Groom. Both are more comprehensive, fun to read, and speak to guys better than this.
