Great book
Wow, another great book by Corey. This is one of the best text books I have been lucky enough to use while working on my Master's in Social Work. Corey realy gives great examples of how the differnt theories work in group counseling. I really enjoyed the sections on REBT and Cognitive Behavioral counseling. This is a book I will keep long after graduation.

Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy, Fifth Edition29 reviews
Irvin D. Yalom, Molyn Leszcz

Basic Books, 2005

The BIBLE of group therapy texts!
Plain and simple, Yalom's seminal text on group therapy is a MUST for anyone wishing to perform therapy in this format. While he comes from a Gestalt standpoint, I feel he remains fairly objective in both his recommendations and observations from his experience. He does a good job at incorporating the latest research to back up his viewpoints as well. His examples are clear and thought-provoking, ...

Racial and Ethnic Groups, 11th Edition7 reviews
Richard T. Schaefer

Prentice Hall, 2007

Excellent book to learn about diversity
This is an excellent book for someone who is learning about diversity. This book isn't 100% perfect but it's a start for someone to learn about diversity in society. The author tried to address each group without bias (as much as possible).

Joining Together is a Great Resource
I read this book as an assignment in a university sociology course. It is a great resouce to have on hand if you work with teams or are intersted in organizational/group behavior. Some of the activities have been used in my "Effective Social Relations" class and we found them not only fun, but educational. I have not read the 1999 edition, but am hoping to get it for a graduation present ...

Group Theory in the Bedroom, and Other Mathematical Diversions1 review
Brian Hayes

Hill and Wang, 2008

Extremely Interesting Even for Math-a-phobics
If you liked the book "Freakonomics: a rogue economist explores the hidden side of everything" (which I loved), there is a good chance you will like this one too. The author may have screwed-up giving it the title he did and by adding "and Other Mathematical Diversions", as it may put off or scare off a lot of people who would find it enjoyable. One would be hard pressed to find a mathematical ...

I can't say enough
I came across this book by chance, but it and the rest that follow have become among my favorites books. I always have two of book #1 on hand to give as gifts. I have probably given away 10 already. Why? For most Chritian women, I think Jodi is a character who can be identified with. I felt as if Jodi has become a real literary friend. Also, this series of books has taught me not too be ...

Microsoft Windows Group Policy Guide (Pro-One-Offs)8 reviews
Darren Mar-Elia, Derek Melber, ...

Microsoft Press, 2005

EVERYTHING you'd ever want to know about group policy
I got this because it was recommended to me. Plus I couldn't live without Stanek's Windows Server 2003 Inside Out and he's a coauthor of this so I was fairly certain it would be worthwhile. Initially, I spent most of my time in the first few chapters as will most admins. The first chapter covers how group policy works with solid depiction of default policy and what it should/shouldn't be used ...
