North American Clone Brews: Homebrew Recipes for Your Favorite American and Canadian Beers9 reviews
Scott R. Russell

Storey Publishing, LLC, 2000

So Many Recipes! So Few Fermenters
I love this book. It is informative, original and full of some very good recipes. There are great instructions for the both beginner and seasoned brewer. There is a good variety of easy recipes and just enough variety in the complex brews to keep you busy for months. Each recipe has a complete header of beer specifics. Great for the beginner who wants to move beyond the basics.

Winners Circle: 10 Years of Award-Winning Homebrew Recipes1 review
American Homebrewers Association

Brewers Publications, 1989

The Homebrewing Cream of the Crop
Homebrewing is a hobby that is slowly gaining in popularity around the country. This book details the beer recipes that have been selected as the best in their respective classes. The author compiled these recipes by selecting only first, second, and third place winners from the hundreds of homebrewing contests that have been held across the country. I have been involved in hombrewing for ...

Victory Beer Recipes: America's Best Homebrew (American Homebrewers Assoc)1 review
American Homebrewers Association

Brewers Publications, 1994

Decent book, but many better options
I bought this book when I was first starting at a local homebrew store since they had a limited recipe book selection. I was very let down with the contents. Most of them are mashed, which isn't a bad thing, but I am still at extracts. also very few of the recipes seemed to jump out at me as ones I had to try. They have all been tested at competitions though, so I am sure they are good, and ...

Clone Brews: Homebrew Recipes for 150 Commercial Beers52 reviews
Tess Szamatulski, Mark Szamatulski

Storey Publishing, LLC, 1998

One down, hundred or so to go
I've only tried one recipe so far and was very happy with it. I partial mash and I modified their recipe to include more grain and less extract. So many brews . . . so little time!

A Year of Beer: 260 Seasonal Homebrew Recipes2 reviews
Amahl Turczyn

Brewers Publications, 1997

A lot of good recipies.
Recipies from award winning homebrews. There are a lot of good recipies in here and a lot that it's hard to imagine that they won anything at all. Regardless of the material the author did a great job compiling all of the recipies and presents it well in this edition. A must have for homebrewers.

Brewing Classic Styles: 80 Winning Recipes Anyone Can Brew21 reviews
Jamil Zainasheff, John Palmer

Brewers Publications, 2007

Best recipe book out there
I have already brewed several of the beers from this book and have had outstanding results. You will need a primary book for the beginner, but if have brewed before and want to get away from kits this is definitely the way to go. You can get most of the recipes free via podcast, but there is other information included in the book that the podcasts miss. I would definitely recommend adding this ...

Homebrew Favorites: A Coast-to-Coast Collection of More Than 240 Beer and Ale Recipes4 reviews
Karl F. Lutzen, Mark Stevens

Storey Publishing, LLC, 1994

An excellent book from extract to all grain!
Karl presents a comprehensive collection of ale and lager recipes. The recipes include both extract and all grain recipes at about a 50/50 porportion. I enjoyed the book immensely as I was departing from kits and following recipes. All the recipes I made came out fantastic and I still make some of them today. Some of the things I exceptionally, liked are: Several recipes come from ...
