I love this book. It is informative, original and full of some very good recipes. There are great instructions for the both beginner and seasoned brewer. There is a good variety of easy recipes and just enough variety in the complex brews to keep you busy for months. Each recipe has a complete header of beer specifics. Great for the beginner who wants to move beyond the basics.

Most of them are mashed, which isn't a bad thing, but I am still at extracts. also very few of the recipes seemed to jump out at me as ones I had to try. Recipies from award winning homebrews. There are a lot of good recipies in here and a lot that it's hard to imagine that they won anything at all. Regardless of the material the author did a great job compiling all of the recipies and presents it well in this edition. A must have for homebrewers.

Best recipe book out there
I have already brewed several of the beers from this book and have had outstanding results. You will need a primary book for the beginner, but if have brewed before and want to get away from kits this is definitely the way to go. You can get most of the recipes free via podcast, but there is other information included in the book that the podcasts miss. I would definitely recommend adding this ...

An excellent book from extract to all grain!
Karl presents a comprehensive collection of ale and lager recipes. The recipes include both extract and all grain recipes at about a 50/50 porportion.
