Another Indication of a Seismic Shift in Health, Wellness and Happiness
Human beings are evolving and evolving rapidly. As we change, then so do our illnesses and, as we have recently discovered, so do the Laws of Healing. Elliott Dacher was a practicing physician for many years, until, in the early 1990s, he felt the same frustration of many other doctors, in that he was unable to address the underlying causes of his patients' distress. Although he does not say ...

Must-have advanced text on harmonic analysis.
This appreciated book constitutes since its first printing one of the finest references on advanced harmonic analysis and some related topics. The author, one of the leading experts in the field, exposes clearly most of the general background as well as recent results, orienting the reader directly to the current trends in research. The book is valuable not only for harmonic analysis ...

An overview of some upgrades Wilber makes in this book
Ken Wilber's book, Integral Spirituality, has some new insights to offer, including an upgrade of his four-quadrant model. Taking into account that a holon in any of the four quadrants can be seen from the outside, or experienced as--or as if--from within, this gives a total of eight perspectives or zones. The Four Quadrants with eight primordial perspectives, or hori-zones of arising, and ...
Integral Urbanism
Nan Ellin
Routledge
, 2006
Integral Urbanism is an ambitious and forward-looking theory of urbanism that offers a new model of urban life. Nan Ellin's model stands as an antidote to the pervasive problems engendered by modern and postmodern urban planning and architecture: sprawl, anomie, a pervasive culture?and architecture?of fear in cities, and a disregard for environmental issues. Instead of the reactive and escapist tendencies characterizing so much contemporary ...

Integral Vision
This little book is an excellent introduction to Ken Wilber's "map" and would serve as an excellent outline for an introductory course on his theory. It gives a brief description of the states, stages/levels, types, lines and quadrants as well as the concepts of perspectives and holons and 'holarchies.' It's very easy to read and the format is bright and captivating (almost like a comic book.)

Very good introduction to measure theory
Very good intro for first encounters with measure theory. Throughout the application in probability theory is emphasized. The necessity of each concept introduced is motivated with clear examples. Interesting problem sets are provided after each section; their solutions are given in the appendix.

One of Ken Wilber's more advanced and scholarly books
This book will not necessarily make good bed timing reading from the standpoint of being "light." Between the covers, it presents a deep exploration of the shortcomings of modern reductionistic ways of looking at the psyche and in its place posits and optimistic, embracing and holistic view that revives the original meaning of the term psyche in most broad sense i.e. mind or soul. In Chapter ...

Essential book for everybody working in mathematical physics! Previous version was not reliable since full of misprints. Now, thanks also to the help of many readers, they have been corrected. Surely some are left, but now this book can be considered a very reliable and useful tool.

For those who can't finish a Ken Wilber book . . .
McIntosh begins his book with some ambitious promises. Published in December 2007, Integral Consciousness is his first book and, in it, he spends 342 pages - in three parts - helping readers `wire up their brains' to adopt the `new' worldview of integral consciousness. He says that this worldview - or `higher state of consciousness' - creates a larger and more complex experiential awareness that ...

Now this is a good book. It consists of over 60 essays as well as a DVD with interviews. The book is partially directed at Ken Wilber's concept of integral medicine. Wilber is not a medical authority but an integral philosopher with many novel and important views. He considers integral medicine as a perspective that includes the patient's subjective world space (one's meaning, values, and ...

A Phenomenal Treatise
Kleinert's work is NOTHING short of phenomenal. After reading Feynman(+Hibbs) this is the text to follow up. Sadly the second edition which is in print contained MANY typos. The third edition fixes much, if not all; it also has added many new topics of various interest. The core physics remains as solid, and even clearer than the previous editions. best book to learn measure theory from
this is a great, clearly written book that excels as a book to learn analysis from. the book takes a ground up approach, starting with only the positive real line and generalizing from there. being presented in the most simple context where all the abstraction is stripped away, the essence of the arguments is laid bare and thus the proofs are as understandable as possible. then, once the ...

Reading this book was a joyful experience. Of course, if you want a more profound, detailed, technical if you will, discussion you can read one of the several books by the same author on this or related subject.Or, other authors on this same matter. The derivative and the integral are the fundamental notions of calculus. Though there is essentially only one derivative, there is a variety of integrals, developed over the years for a variety of purposes, and this book describes them. No other single source treats all of the integrals of Cauchy, Riemann, Riemann-Stieltjes, Lebesgue, Lebesgue-Steiltjes, Henstock-Kurzweil, Weiner, and Feynman. The basic properties of each are proved, their ...

faithful to the Original
I used to teach Yoga at the Integral Yoga Institute back in the early 70's. I can attest to the fact that this is faithful to the original program. As I watch my 20 something daughter search for good yoga classes I can only say that I wish more of today's yoga classes held such a good balance of the spiritual (but not heavy-handed) and the meditative and physical as is found in this little book.
