Magickal applications of quantum mechanics
Quantum mechanics is well and truly in the public consciousness these days, largely due to the success of the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know!?" This movie opened the eyes of viewers to the incredible possibilities available. The obvious question those viewers should have asked themselves is how they could go about taking full advantage of the possibilities. Quantum mechanics provides an ...

Earth Prayers From around the World: 365 Prayers, Poems, and Invocations for Honoring the Earth19 reviews

HarperOne, 1991

In touch with the Spirit, in touch with the Earth
This eclectic collection of prayers, poems, chants, verses, and mantras from all around the world is worth keeping near at all times. A dear friend gave this to me many years ago and I've nearly worn out the copy carrying it with me while sauntering from the Rockies and high Sierra, to the depths of the southwest desert canyons, to the wild Pacific shore. This is truly a wonderful collection of ...

To Bless the Space Between Us: A Collection of Invocations and Blessings27 reviews
John O'Donohue

Sounds True, Incorporated, 2008

Love this Book
I absolutely LOVE this book! My husband & I are planning for a family, when I got this book in the mail I opened randomly to a page somewhere in the middle and magically turned right to the blessing for "The Mother-To-Be"! So amazing! My yoga instructor reads us passages from this book sometimes (how I heard about it) and everytime she does, the peaceful, blessed effect is palpable.

The Power of Crying Out: When Prayer Becomes Mighty (LifeChange Books)17 reviews
Bill Gothard

Multnomah Books, 2002

This little gem is a must read for the serious Christian!
In this slender volume, Bill Gothard reminds the Church of a long-neglected spiritual truth: God wants us to pray with our voices. Gothard points out the myriad of Bible passages that encourage us to cry out audibly, and illustrates the power of doing so with both Bible stories and personal testimonies. He also examines the meaning of many Hebrew words translated "cry" in the Old Testament. ...

Invocation: Sacred Chants Create a Musical Backdrop for Spiritual Practice4 reviews
Ty Burhoe

Sounds True, Incorporated, 2006

Amazing (+ obscure?) Krishna Das
Wow. I was skeptical when Krishna Das and Sultan Khan put out "A Drop Of The Ocean" a couple years ago-- I didn't want a cameo by KD to sell an otherwise weak album (I wasn't yet familiar with Sultan Khan). I got the CD, eventually, because it was on sale at a local used CD store. Of course, I was stunned by that albums beauty, depth, and grace. "Invocation" is like the follow up to that ...

HEKATE: Keys to the Crossroads - A collection of personal essays, invocations, rituals, recipes and artwork ...6 reviews

Avalonia, 2006

Incredible, and comforting
While any work with a deity is personal, to read other people's experiences with Hekate is both interesting, and eye opening. If you're a "Hekatite" this book can only reafirm your faith in her, and the amount of respect that she is due. You begin to undertsand that you are not the only one who goes through certain things with Hekate, that she will teach, and she will punish (If sometimes ...

Forgotten Books, 2008

Boo
Excellent book! I highly recommend reading the British Version of The Lesser Key of Solomon. It is much better than the Joseph Peterson version and cheaper besides! It is very clear and easy to follow. I can't wait to try it out!

Abdur-Rahman Ibn Yusuf; Inam Uddin

White Thread Press, 2005

God, Most High, says: “Remember me and I will remember you” (Qur’an 40:60) We feel a sense of belonging, protection, and safety when we call out to Allah. When coupled with the powerful formulae of supplication (du'a) and remembrance (dhikr), this calling leads to a feeling of tranquility within our hearts and minds. With this goal in mind, Muslims scholars have compiled numerous books of supplications and remembrances from the Qur’an ...

java(TM).rmi: The Remote Method Invocation Guide10 reviews
Esmond Pitt

Addison-Wesley Professional, 2001

Best book on RMI
This is the best book on RMI that I have come across and I personally own 4 RMI books (about 10 if you count books that aren't solely on RMI). Contrary to a previous reviewer, this is NOT a beginners book. Beginners should get a more verbose RMI tutorial-like book. This is an advanced reference with very few examples, but it covers topics that you just can't find anywhere else, and furthermore, ...

The Pagan's Muse: Words of Ritual, Invocation, and Inspiration: Words of Ritual, Invocation, and Inspiration7 reviews

Citadel, 2003

I have three poems in this anthology as well
Naturally, I'm bound to love it. There really are poems there that make the hair on the back of my neck stand up as well. Back when I was writing rituals for a working coven every month, this book would have been invaluable to me for inspiration.

Harper San Francisco Staff, Carrie Leadingham (Editor), ...

Like a breath of fresh air
The photos in this book of wisdom are ethereal. Short but poignant meanings of peace are accompanied by photo collages to soothe the soul. If everyone read just one page of this book each day, world peace might be possible.

Becoming the Goddess6 reviews

Hypnotherapy Services, 2001

Not just for Wiccans--Your Mother wants you to call Her!
Even thought I'm a longtime practicioner of Wicca, there are times when a frazzled Witch has trouble tuning in to "Mama" This CD comes in handy for quickly and reliably connecting with the Goddess, and is general enough for practicioners of any faith or view. I sometimes listen to it in a herbal bath for the ULTIMATE relaxation Womb experience after a freaky day. (Please, be safe w/electricity ...

Invocation of the Angels4 reviews
Joan Borysenko

Hay House, 2005

This Tape Healed My Sister's Chronic Leg Pain
My sister was visiting me, and I gave her my personal stereo and headphones, and the healing meditation on side 2 to listen to. When she was 15 she had a leg injury from a motorcycle accident. At 50 years old the leg pain still bothered her. The tape caused the pain's energy to exit through her foot -that was 2 years ago- and she has been pain free ever since. Now she tells everyone about ...

Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya on the Invocation of God (Islamic Texts Society)1 review
Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya

Islamic Texts Society, 2000

ibn al-Qayyim a Sufi?
That seems to be the question asked now. Lets face it his books were hardly read not long after he passed away until early in the 20th century with the founding of Saudi Arabia and the Wahabbi creed becoming the standard and only accepted one in the Kingdom. For much of the past 60 or more years it has been largely believed that ibn Taymiyya and his student ibn al-Qayyim were violently ...
