Lucky23 reviews
Jackie Collins

Pocket, 1998

KEPT ME AT THE EDGE OF MY SEAT!!
What more can I say? All of the money in the world could not get me to pry my fingers off of this book. In Collins' sophomore release of the Santangelo saga we get reaquainted with the awe-inspiring, business savy and headstrong Lucky Santangelo, daughter of the notorious Gino "The Ram" Santagelo -- former mob boss. Not one iota of what Collins' writes in this book comes off as being ...

A Guide for Using In the Year of the Boar & Jackie Robinson in the Classroom59 reviews
CAROLINE NAKAJIMA

Teacher Created Resources, 1993

Loved It!
I love this book. This book tells you how to overcome loneliness. Shirley found a way to make some good friends. I would have you read this book because it lets you learn what it would feel like to move from one place to another. It also tells you how different and unique other people can be. It's a really good book. (written by my sixth grade student, Ashley)

Lady Boss11 reviews
Jackie Collins

Pocket, 1998

'LADY BOSS'
I recently finished 'LADY BOSS' the third book in the Lucky Santangelo series and I absolutely loved it! Where 'LUCKY' was good 'LADY BOSS' was great. In this third installment Lucky goes to Hollywood in hopes of acquiring a major movie studio, however, just before she closes the deal she finds out that there is a catch. She has to work undercover at the studio for six weeks as a plain Jane ...

Chances42 reviews
Jackie Collins

Grand Central Publishing, 1991

Fun, original read!
I just love this story, it's about impossible to put down. It follows the crazy lives of several characters with love, betrayal, operations of the mob, murder-you name it- the only complaint is that it does include MANY graphic sex scenes, almost to the point of over-kill. This is definitely an adult read. I do plan to read the sequels too!

What Would Jackie Do?: An Inspired Guide to Distinctive Living39 reviews
Shelly Branch, Sue Callaway

Gotham, 2006

How to Live With Distinction
For a generation raised on Britney Spears and Hannah Montana, this book could be a godsend. For the rest of us, it's a reminder that we are more than how we look, with some helpful advice on how to look as good as possible without sacrificing health or bank account. How to arrange your life so that you aren't a burden on anyone and a gift to those you choose. How not to be taken for granted. ...

Dangerous Kiss (Lucky Santangelo Novels)58 reviews
Jackie Collins

Pocket, 2000

absolutely marvelous!!!!
Dangerous Kiss is so different from the other Lucky Santangelo novels because it does not feature the Bonnatti family. I really loved that it introduced new characters to the world of Lucky Santangelo and Lennie Golden. This book is definitely worth five stars because you won't want to put the book down. It will keep you wondering about the fates of Lucky and everyone that she loves!

Drop Dead Beautiful39 reviews
Jackie Collins

St. Martin's Press, 2007

The Return of Lucky
I enjoyed revisting Lucky and the whole Santangelo clan. The only bad thing about the book was that nothing new really happened. Lucky worried about her kid and her hotel, but this isn't the Lucky we're used to, who normally takes the world by storm. It seemed like JC was trying to pass the torch to Max for future books, but she never really developed Max as a strong enough character to carry ...

Winning Is Not Enough: The Autobiography (UK Edition)6 reviews
Sir Jackie Stewart

Headline Book Publishing, 2008

Excellent Autobiography
This is simply a great book. I am familiar with Stewart's excellence as a speaker so it should come as no surprise that he tells great stories in print too. What comes through beyond the details of his life is his committment to integrity and thoughtfulness above all else in human nature. Jackie is as concerned about a gameskeeper in rural Scotland as the Royal person or CEO in his next meeting. ...

The Road to Hell (Hell on Earth, Book 2)14 reviews
Jackie Kessler

Zebra, 2007

Sizzling--a must read for all urban fantasy fans!
Kessler does it again, only better! If you liked HELL'S BELLES, you'll love THE ROAD TO HELL. And if you think Laurell K. Hamilton is sexy...she's got nothin' on Jackie Kessler. Hang in there, folks--something tells me that Hell is just gonna get hotter.

Dad, Jackie, And Me3 reviews
Myron Uhlberg

Peachtree, 2005

Myron rocks!
"Dad, Jackie, and Me" is a fabulous story about a father and a son, about prejudice and triumph. Myron Uhlberg subtly creates a parallel between the unfair discrimination against his father for being deaf and Jackie Robinson for being African-American. This is a touching book with lovely illustrations...not to mention so many dimensions for a classroom teacher to explore with students! Plus, I ...

Vendetta: Luckys Revenge28 reviews
Jackie Collins

Avon, 1997

Vendetta
This fourth installment to the insanely juicy Lucky Santangelo series is probably my favorite of all. In Vendetta, Lucky winds up in the most precarious circumstance she's ever come across when her treasured Panther Studios is stolen right up under her by Donna Landsmen ... the corrupt and evil widow of Lucky's old nemesis, Santino Bonnatti. Although Donna knows what a lying filthy snake she ...

Trumpet: A Novel24 reviews
Jackie Kay

Vintage, 2000

Pure poetry
It was not a surprise to me to read, after finishing the book, that the author is a poet. This book moved with beautiful flow, so easy to read, and engaging. As another reviewer mentioned, the book is based, loosely, on the story of Billy Tipton. "Suits Me" is interesting, but it is an incredibly slow and arduous read and, in return, does not provide much insight into Billy Tipton and his ...

The Stud6 reviews
Jackie Collins

Pocket, 1999

Experience the sixties w/o being there
Let me preface this by saying I'm not a very big fan of Jackie Collins, but I LOVE this book. As you move through 1969 London through the eyes of professional stud Tony Blake, you'll almost feel like you've taken a trip back in time. The sex scenes are hot w/o being vulgar, and all the characters, even the secondary ones, are very well drawn out. A scintillating and wonderful trip back in ...

Jackie Collins

BETTER THAN THE STUD
This book is a very fast read. It's certainly better than The Stud which is the first book to have these characters. It's only a little over 200 pages and the language and actions are a little dated. if you a fan of jackie collins, you would like this book. if you are not and a first timer, be careful and try one of her more famous books such as hollywood wives or something of that ...

A SURE BET
You know exactly what you get yourself into when picking up a Jackie Collins novel: a sugarcoated tale of glamour and lust with a roman à clef attitude. This time around, LOVERS AND GAMBLERS takes you into the glamourous life of Dallas and Al, two gorgeous misfits who suffer greatly in the name of love. Their destined-to-be-together union is a roller coaster ride of secrets and lies only Jackie ...

Deadly Embrace30 reviews
Jackie Collins

The best so far
So far I have completed about 7 of Jackie Collin's novels and this one was by far the most entertaining. I love how she mingles, sex, hate, murder, etc. It is captivating -- I did not want to put this book down and the end did not disappoint. A must read.
