Another Wonderful Adventure by Jules Verne
Note: Some immature Mormon has been slamming my reviews because I wrote some negative reviews of books attempting to defend the Book of Mormon. So your "helpful" votes are greatly appreciated. A short review is not necessarily a bad review if it leads you to a great novel. I've just noted the general theme. Thanks A group of adventures with an old map travel to Iceland and find a cave. ...

Enlightening and eye/opening experience
This book greatly impressed me and I read it straight through in one sitting. The author's knowledge and perspective of this issue really helps to illustrate all angles of the immigration debate. Enrique's harrowing journey tugs at the heart and the outcome of the book builds an reaction of unexpectance. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has any interest in Central America, poverty, ...

Life Between Lives
This is the first of three books that Michael Newton Ph.D. has written on this subject of our souls and the spirit world in which we all reside. It is one of the most accurate writings on this subject. This book, Journey of Souls, and the companion to it; "Destiny of Souls" is an eye opening collection of client dialog and author analogy that will satify your metaphysical thirst for the true ...

The Source of a Childhood Memory Found.
When I was younger, I saw first on TV and then later at a Kiddies Mattinee a movie "Alakazam, the Great". If fascinated me, and as I studied more and more mythology, I realized that it must have come from a mythic source, and I tried to find that source for over 30 years. Last Spring I found out it was part of this book by watching a made for TV movies, called "The Monkey King". Here was the ...

A little dark, very creative
I actually read this book to my class, and they really enjoyed it. In fact they were sad when the book was over. In truth, so was I. It's a little darker than I expected but really very interesting, great moral base, and great imagery (sp?). I highly recommend it to anyone who likes playful fantasy.

A self -help book for people who think they hate self-help books
I'm not a huge fan of many self-help books because all too often they: 1. Say what people already know and just want affirmed 2. Are light on reflection and heavy on pop psychology or psychology "lite", easy to digest and not very challenging 3. Written by people who come across as experts but impart nothing new or special. This book is different. As I began to read it, I really enjoyed ...

Uplifting
What an amazing book. I began to read with a cynically curled lip, but the truth in this book grabbed me and I read it in 2 days and then did the Seminar. I'm sorry if I sound cliche, but this is lifechanging. I don't recognise the doubting me who picked up the book (but I thank God that I did) and I love what I have become and I laugh now at all the emotional rubbish that I have been able to ...

Excellent history of great mathematical minds
William Dunham is the author of several books on the history of mathematics. In this brief history of mathematics and mathematicians, the author, rather than writing a little bit about a large number of mathematicians, has provided longer treatments of a few. The 'few', naturally, being the most talented/famous from the earliest days. To include: Hippocrates Euclid Archimedes Heron ...

See it, feel it, trust it
This is my all time favorite book about golf - and life! I have read this book numerous times, and have recently shared it with my two children ages 8 and 12 who are junior golfers. On the surface, Golf's Sacred Journey is a story of an aspiring golfer dealing with the insecurities, frustrations, and failures of trying to make it as a professional golfer. But the deeper message in the book is how ...

All over the place
The previous two reviewers both gave this two stars only. I think the arrangement of the articles, alphabetically by country, detracts from the power of the best entries here. The magazine obviously can attract top authors to contribute, yet the selections vary widely in length, focus, and inherent interest. While there are eight or ten fine pieces, too many others trudge along dutifully and make ...

Great Companion to the PBS Video!
I came to know about Dr Wells' work through the PBS documentary and I made sure that I got it on video so that I could slowly digest the information in it. I was amazed at the findings that we all have a common ancestor from Africa and as recently as only 60 thousand years ago! As the documentary stated at the end, any notions of racism and bigotry based on race after this discovery is just ...

A Wonderful Journey Home
The Incredible Journey is a great and heartwarming book. It is about three animals (an old Bull Terrier, a young Labrador retriever, and a feisty Siamese cat) who set out to find their master and family. It was a dangerous but wonderful journey. This book made me feel like I was actually there in the Canadian wilderness. I think anyone who loves animals and adventure would like this book. ...

Increasing understanding of Aging
Hellen Bee is able to carry one through the years of adulthood through many avenues. Using scientific studies she interprets the data in meaningful ways. Inclusion of personal accounts and her conversational style make the reading interesting. The book continually ties previous ideas to new concepts giving a nice continuity. I especially enjoyed her occasional insertions of the not-so-scientific ...

The Journey is an easily readable, comfortable and understandable book. It is filled with a very special man's understanding, appreciation, and love for God and his fellowman. Great play, not for light reading
Eugene O'Neill's classic play, "Long Day's Journey into Night," is an autobiographical work that makes you feel immense pity for his family life. It's a great read, and wonderful to analyze! Just don't think that this will be a playful romp through the theater. O'Neill tackles a lot of heavy issues in this play and it can be difficult to read.
