He's Just Not That Into You: The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys (The Newly Expanded Edition) 816 reviews Greg Behrendt, Liz Tuccillo
Simon Spotlight Entertainment, 2006
Very Empowering! This book is great. Bought it after getting dumped. I'd read a little everytime I started to feel a little down. It would even make me laugh sometimes. It was amazing how so much of it did apply to situations I had been in. It helped to realize that I am worth more and deserve to have someone that really is into me.
I'm definitely keeping this book as a reference on future relationships.

So greatful for this book I just finished this book and what a Godsend. I found out my husband was having an emotional affair on March 31st of this year. He saw her in Feb. when he went to visit his brother for an ice fishing trip and they were planning on meeting in April for "more". About a month after he started talking to her I ...

Just How Stupid Are We?: Facing the Truth About the American Voter 25 reviews Rick Shenkman
Basic Books, 2008
Maybe we aren't as stupid as some folks think In reading this book, one great image comes to mind -- that of Abraham Lincoln and the whiskey barrel that was a common appeal to voters in his early political career.
It represents the great fault Shenkman finds with democracy in America; voters are cynically misled by cheap stunts today just as they were by cheap whiskey in Lincoln's era. Based on my 40 years experience in government ...

Harper Paperbacks, 2001
Exceptionally Researched and Written! I read this book several years ago and found it well researched, written and easy to understand.
Deborah Tannen is a linguist who clearly addresses how and why women and men communicate differently. She explains that women communicate primarily to establish connections and negotiate relationships while men talk as a primary means to preserve independence and to negotiate and maintain status in ...

Just Who Will You Be?: Big Question. Little Book. Answer Within. (ROUGHCUT) 55 reviews Maria Shriver
Hyperion, 2008
It touched me deeply! I didn't know too much about Maria Shriver before reading this book except for the fact that she is the famous Kennedy-Mrs. Schwarzenegger-First lady of California that you see in the headlines from time to time. Then one day the title of her book "Just Who Will You Be" caught my eye. Umm, why would she be interested in who she is? Doesn't she have all the fame in the world already? So I picked ...

Just And Unjust Wars: A Moral Argument With Historical Illustrations 29 reviews Michael Walzer
Basic Books, 2006
All Is Not Fair in Love and War Walzer's historical approach to examining just war theory is, I think, the most useful way to understand morality in war. That is so because empirical facts back up all the philosophical evaluations. Walzer describes experience and draws conclusions here; he is laying a philosophical foundation and implying, if not prescribing, moral norms from which the rules have been extracted. Be forewarned, ...
