Essentials of Investments 6 reviews Zvi Bodie, Alex Kane, ...
McGraw Hill Higher Education, 2006
Excellent intro to Investment theory I studied the entire book for my Investment Management course at Stellenbosch University in South Africa and found it very complete from the point of view of the "novice" investor and/or student. The book is not written for the intermediate or expert investor, but for an introductory course in Investment management it did the trick.

The Courage to Love (Brothers in Arms, Book 1) 11 reviews Samantha Kane
Ellora's Cave, 2007
Wow! I absolutely loved this book. First and foremost, of course, is the sex - which is toe-curlingly well-written. Secondly is the way Ms. Kane develops the story: slowly increasing the levels of intimacy - both sexual and romantic - between the characters until it's not about two men in love with one woman, but about three people all in love with each other equally. This is what sold me on this ...

It's comprehensive and filled with "extras" like website recs and sample CFA questons.

At Love's Command (Brothers in Arms, Book 3) 1 review Samantha Kane
Ellora's Cave Publishing, Inc., 2008
A true GEM of a story The Brothers in Arms series centers around a group of men who fought together in the Peninsular War. In pairs, they protected each other and saved each other many times over. They love each other but, for some of them, they never considered how much they needed to also physically love each other and could only fulfill that unspoken need by sharing one woman. Once they find a woman they can both ...

Love Under Siege (Brothers in Arms, Book 2) 7 reviews Samantha Kane
Ellora's Cave, 2008
brothers in arms Johnathon and Philip are childhood friends and war vets. They search and find the woman they can both love in Maggie. While she marries Philip, it has been planned for them to be a true menage with Johnathon, and the fun begins when he moves in with them.
I like the story it is hot and goes through the historical points to catch you. The sex is great, and the scenes where the guys discover how ...

Investments 1 review Kane, Marcus Bodie
McGraw-Hill, 2008
also useful for non-financial managers For students majoring in finance, business or accounting, at the undergraduate or graduate level, this 7th Edition is a comprehensive exposition of the ideas of modern finance. Every major topic in finance is discussed, accompanied by ample references to websites, and well chosen illustrations and exercises.
There is a bias towards the American financial scene, and presumably to students at ...

Sarah Kane: Complete Plays 6 reviews Sarah Kane
A&C Black, 2001
Not just Family Fun... Sarah Kane is anything but family friendly. Her plays are raw, brutal, and yet beautiful in an ironic way. She takes all of the hate that exists in this world and uses it to show us the beauty that can come from the ruble of a blown up building. There is no way to actually describe Sarah Kane to you to make you want to buy her book. I was forced to buy it because of a class at my college, but I ...

The Savage Tales of Solomon Kane 25 reviews Robert E. Howard
Wandering Star, 1998
Nice New Discovery I received this as a gift and I didn't think I was going to like it because I am not a Conan fan. But I loved it! Solomon Kane is kind of like a Puritan Van Helsing. The stories are mix of horror and supernatural with a little mystery and superhero sprinkled in. This is a great classic style of storytelling. I recommend this for teen upwards and mainly for people who like the above mentioned ...

No Way Out 23 reviews Andrea Kane
Pocket, 2007
Liked it even if... I'll begin by saying that like many of the other reviewers I found part of the story very hard to believe. However, I did enjoy the book. The parts I had the hardest time with were with Julia Talbot (2nd grade teacher and highly educated) she is a favored teacher among her students. However, she is over emotional when it comes to one child in particular Brian (the mayor's son). I understand a ...

Difference with the U.S. edition Beware when buying that book (International 7th Edition of Investments), it is true that the content is exactly the same as for the U.S. edition, except for the end of chapter exercises which are completely different!

Savages 22 reviews Joe Kane
Vintage, 1996
Another good one by Joe Kane Have you read Kane's Running the Amazon? Here's another good one. It even won the Bay Area Book Reviewers Assoc Award in 1995. Kane travels to Ecuador to live for a while with the Huaorani tribal people as their Stone Age culture bumps against the 20th Century. The Huaorani eventually befriended Kane, but at the beginning, it was just as likely that they might murder him, as they had fairly ...

A Type Primer 2 reviews John Kane
Laurence King Publishing, 2002
Typography 101 I found this book to be an excellent, well organized, and easy to use tool in learning the history, classification, and organization of type. It is a great text for anyone starting out in the design field as well as for the experienced designer. I never knew exactly how much care and detail went into properly setting type until I got into this book. Mr. Kane has included excellent visual examples ...

Citizen Kane (BFI Film Classics) 3 reviews Laura Mulvey
British Film Institute, 1992
A wonderful film that deserves a book like this. This is an example of what the BFI classics should hope to attain for each of their forthcoming books. A great insight into the film and the events surrounding it. Praise, I suppose, is due to the fact that there was so much that went on around the making of this film that it would be hard to write a bad book about it.
