Black College Nightmare (Black College Lamentation Series) 1 review
Strategic Publishing Group, 2007
Great Book, and Good Read, and no doubt about it. You should get this. It is high-quality erotica and smartly written. I'd highly recommend it as a change of pace from erotica written from the female point of view. The scenes are quite.....hot.

Briliant Book... This is a brilliant book and wonderfully well written. It reminded me of Noire, Zane or Dickey. It has great erotica scenes and liasons. I'd highly recommend.

Jeremiah, Lamentations (The NIV Application Commentary) 2 reviews J. Andrew Dearman

great theology Boy did the first reviewer have a axe to grind! Longman rates this commentary five stars. He states that it is "a very sensitive theological reading that also brings these two books into touch with the contemporary world."

Lamentations of the Father 2 reviews Ian Frazier
Westminster John Knox Press, 2000
Excellent gift for the right sort of person Not for everyone, but for parents who can translate Torah, this is about the funniest piece ever written. It's a small book--just that one piece from Atlantic with illustrations, but if you're wrestling with Biblical Hebrew and sippy cups, it's probably about as much diversion as you have time for. I think this would make an excellent gift for a bright stay-at-home (Jewish) parent of a toddler.

Lamentations of the Father: Essays 3 reviews Ian Frazier
Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2008
A very funny riff on reality As serious as he is funny, Frazier can deconstruct the historical accuracy of Daffy Duck with the same straight-faced relish he uses to savage corporate crooks and the "innovative thinking" of the Bush administration.
While his politics are definitely left leaning, he skewers pomposity, dogmatism and the babble of popular culture wherever it strikes his fancy - which is just about anywhere, ...

Lamentations and the Tears of the World 2 reviews Kathleen M. O'Connor
Orbis Books, 2002
Lamentations and Personal Tears of Grief! I changed Dr. O'Connor's title to include what I strongly felt and believed as I peruse the first few chapters and her closing "Theological Betweeness" Summary. The Foreward by Prof Bruegge gives his seal of approval and names her as "my distingished and treasured colleague." He describes her growth in her own daring presentation in which "she carries readers to new depths of human anguish and ...

Katrina After The Fact: Rants & Lamentations of a Survivor 2 reviews Nicol Breaux Alipio
iUniverse, Inc., 2006
katrina stick-to-it-tiveness It will get cleaned up. Surely, New Orleans will get cleaned up. Well, this is one New Orleanian who is tired of waiting for "it" to just happen. Her chapter on "The Sounds of New Orleans" will make anyone think twice about riding out the storm, with a livid account of how it just might have been for the unfortunate ones left behind. You want to know what many New Orleanians went and are still ...

Five Festal Garments: Christian Reflections on the Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, Esther ... 2 reviews Barry G. Webb
IVP Academic, 2001
Five Festal Garments Five Festal Garments examines five Old Testament Books that are often neglected (or handled badly) by preachers today. The books that Webb gives consideration to are Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes and Esther. Webb's approach with this book is clearly spelt out in the introduction. He wants to examine the books from a biblical theology farmework. (The following is a quote from ...

Jeremiah and Lamentations: From Sorrow to Hope (Preaching the Word) (Preaching the Word) 2 reviews Philip Graham Ryken
Crossway Books, 2001
Wonderful as usual Wonderful Expository Sermons. I have read all 767 pages. The word Expository may not be what you think you want. You may be thinking you want a Commentary. But these sermons give you so much more than just facts. They also show you how to preach and teach.
Style - I love the way Ryken tells the story and puts it all together - not just facts. Jeremiah is a big book and there are a lot of ...

Lamentation: 9/11 1 review E.L. Doctorow
Ruder Finn Press, Inc., 2002
2005 Writers Notes Book Award Winner We didn't want to look at this book, being too close to ground zero as it were, but on that fateful September day, we all looked up from our lives and paused. We lamented the end of an era and, for many, the end of our lives. David Finn felt compelled to photograph the wreckage of and reaction to the most vicious attack on the U.S. mainland since the British burned the White House in 1812. Not ...

Lamentations of the Queen: An Epic Collection of Eighty Poems 1 review Norbert Seshie
Exposure Publishing, 2006
A must read for everyone I have read a couple of poetry books. But this is different. I found myself racing with the pages to get to the bottom of the plot. Yes, it has a kind of a plot. Each poem works out perfectly into the next, moving the whole book into a climax and an anti-climax. I've not seen any movies made from poems, but this one will easily make a movie. The message it carries is relevant and dynamite. Not ...

Lamentation as History: Narratives by Koreans in Japan, 1965-2000 1 review Melissa Wender
Stanford University Press, 2005
Crimson Kimchi I first became interested in the issue of minorities in Japan when I watched Yukisada Isao's wonderful film Go a couple of years ago. The film revolves around a young man named Sugihara who keeps his Korean identity secret from his love interest because he is afraid of how she would react if she found out that he has Korean blood running through his veins. However, Go was not my first exposure to ...

Grief And Pain In The Plan Of God: Christ assurance and the message of Lamentations 1 review Walter Kaiser
Christian Focus, 2004
Understanding God's plan through pain The book provides an outstanding analysis of God's haltered to sin vs. His love to mankind. The book highlights the impact of hope, prayer and praise during difficult times.
Kaiser's analysis of the artistic structure of the book of Lamentations adds to the value of this book. Very well done.

Eichah-Lamentations, Art Scroll Tanach Ser. 1 review Meir Zlotowitz
Mesorah Publications, Limited, 1999
good for what it is A guide to very (and I mean VERY) traditionalist Jewish understandings of the book of Lamentations, based on medieval commentators and premedieval Midrash. If you plan to study Lamentations at all, this book is a good place to start (at least from a Jewish point of view)- but if you are really interested, you might want to read something less traditional as well.

The Lamentations of Jeremiah 1 review
Insight for Living, 1977
Great wealth from a hidden gem! I have been a fan of Chuck Swindoll for years, and his series of messages on Lamentations is my personal favorite. Through this oft-ignored book of the Old Testament, Swindoll masterfully depicts the aftermath of rebellion and iniquity. If I had to give this series a title, it would be "The Wages of Sin." I highly recommend this series. (I just wish he'd publish it as a book, too!)

Lamentations on the Rwandan Genocide 1 review Pierre-Damien Mvuyekure

A strongly recommended introduction to a genuine African tragedy A native of Rwanda, the theme and focus of Pierre-Damien Mvuyekure (Professor of English at the University of Northern Iowa) "Lamentations On The Rwandan Genocide" is a true human holocaust. Fifteen poems and an extensive section of notes on Rwandan culture provides an American readership with a strongly recommended introduction to a genuine African tragedy as only memorable and deftly crafted ...

Theodoret of Cyrus: Commentary on the Prophets Vol 1: Commentaries on Jeremiah, Baruch and the Book of ... 1 review Robert C. Hill
Holy Cross Orthodox Press, 2007
Excellent! I have a number of Theodoret's commentaries, and this one on the Minor Prophets is Theodoret on top of his game. He gives very helpful insights on about every verse, and they are straight to point and not long drawn out explanations. In my personal opinion (being a lover of the Church Fathers), I find this commentary on the 12 Minor Prophets to be the best one over St. Cyril of Alexandria, St. ...
