Lioness, by Nell Brien
The protagonist, Cat Stanton, serves well as the ideal woman: independent, headstrong, elegantly attractive, focused, ambitious; a woman with a deep-rooted sense of family -- whether she opposes (and ultimately hates) her father, or suffers an intense, loving relationship with her twin brother. The first chapter establishes her career, her heart and her strong sense of responsibility to the ...

really good sci-fi romance
I was hesitant to buy this Erotic Futuristic Romance book because there were no reviews, after reading it, I'm really glad I did. If you enjoy Michelle Pillow & Katilyn O'Connor sci-fi romance books, you will enjoy this book also. As soon as I finished I ordered this authors other books.

Excellent inspiration for girls everywhere
Book 1 in Song of the Lioness series I first read this book aged 13 and have read it at least once a year since then throughout my teens and twenties. This book is an inspiration for girls everywhere - if you want to achieve something badly enough then you can. Set in the fictional kingdom of Tortall, this book is an excellent start to Tamora Pierce's universe of magic, myths, adventures, ...

Great book.
This book is actually the sequel to 'The Savage Damsel and the Dwarf', my favourite book in 'The Squire's Tales' series. It follows the adventures of Gaheris and Lynet's daughter, Luneta, as she leaves home for the first time and sets out into the big wide world. This book is in many ways very similar to its predecessor, most importantly in the quality and humourousness of its writing. Once ...

Leo the Lioness- a very good book
In Leo the Linoness, you can really relate to the book. The book is about a girl named Tibb, who loves the Zodiac. She is a Leo, and she decides that that is the strongest sign in the zodiac. She has a sister named Nina, and the best mom ever. But in summer, her ex-best friend turns into a boy [lover]. And her sisters attitude is ridiculous. On top of that, her old baby-sitter is getting ...

THE KING AND THE QUEEN ARE DEAD. LONG LIVE OUR QUEEN!
This writer is, by own right, the new Spanish speaking queen of writers! Before her splendor, Isabel Allende and Garcia Marques might as well be dead ! The book is UNIQUE! The writing impeccable, light as the wings of a butterly but deep as the emotions of a great woman!

Great Stroy for all ages
This book is one of my favorites. This book tells you the story of a bond between a hunan and a lioness. This is a great book because it shows you a different side of wild animals and the way they live. When you read it, you will get the excitement as if you are along on the safari with them!

Adventure Love Story
Ewing has captured the raw essence of romance with his earthy, yet mystical, love story. Amidst the Rocky Mountain ranch country, the forces of nature seem to be guiding Sean, a modern day cowboy, and his new city dwelling friend, Karinna, toward a discovery of the heart. This masterfully crafted novel is full of adventure, humor and tenderness. If you enjoyed Message in a Bottle and Bridges of ...

Good Book - But Unusual!
People need to remember the game is fantasy, and also that it was originally written in Germany. The book has a few "things" that might make the standard reader uneasy - such as teens drinking beer freely (and its accepted), teens having sex, and the like. But over all, the book is excellent and well written.

A different take on Mary
This was a real eye opener for me. I had never viewed Mary from this perspective. She is often portrayed as the lesser of the two sisters; this obscures the tough position in which she found herself. I also learned a great deal about Ann, her times and her marriage. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in a new take on female rulers in Great Britain, specifically, or to ...

Wonderful tale for all ages
A lively tale reminiscent of the story of Job. One fine day, Mazel (the spirit of Good Luck) and Schlimazel (the spirit of Bad Luck), are strolling through a small village. Mazel boasts to his companion about his popularity; he is welcomed by all, called upon often, and loved by everyone. "No one ever calls for you," he tells Schlimazel. Scoffing, Schlimazel claims "The world is ruled by the ...

These books are why reading is so wonderful
I am in college to become a librarian for young adults. This book, and all of Tamora's books are the first thing I recomend to anyone who even might enjoy fantasy fiction. This book, and all of Tamora's books, are entirely suitable for any age group. Not only is the content suitable for children but the story is written with crystal clarity in language that enable an 8 year old to ...

The Lioness Rules!
Book 4 in the Song of the Lioness series (and the final book where Alanna is the main character but read on for TP's other books where she still plays a part!) Alanna is now a recognised knight and looking for adventure. She ventures after a prize and in her travels finds romance, some excellent friendships and her own desires. The book explores new parts of the TP universe but brings us home to ...

A must read for those interested in Thai literature!!!
Susan Kepner has put together a beautiful collection of stories written by Thai female writers. The book touches on many facets of life for Thai women. Some are brutally honest and some incredibly humorous. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in women's studies in Southeast Asia, and specifically Thailand.

Amazing and Impressive work!
I wrote the following review for a group of teens in 2004; over the past four years I've re-read the series several times. If anything, I find the books even more enjoyable now! ~*~*~*~ What luck that my daughter chose this series to read! I often read the books she chooses before she does so that we can share in the joys of discussing them, with this being no exception. With this quartet ...
