"Proven" new ways to think about business
Can you not be compelled by a visionary author who opens this edition of his book with a review of the first edition, written in 1987! The 20-page new introduction and review is one of the most fascinating parts of the book. In a fairly modest way, not self-serving, Davis shows how most of his ideas have come to pass. Some are in still in development, and a couple of previous case studies ...

Best book I've personally ever read on RE
I'll keep this short. Low-end house investments aren't for everyone. However, this book hit me like a Mack Truck...I couldn't put it down and have referred many friends to this excellent work. I have read well over 100 real estate investment courses and books in the last 12 years of my life and NONE (even those outrageously priced $800 courses) spoke to me like this $40 gem. Thank you Bryan ...

Faith: Inspiring and Factually Informative
I've enjoyed Mr. Goodrich's earlier books (Anarchy and Elegance and Roadster), but Faith is a Verb really is more than enjoyable, it is inspiring. Mr. Goodrich manages both to give an objective history of Habitat for Humanity and make the reader want rise from his armchair, grab a hammer and nail gun, and do something for the community. Goodrich alternates chapters describing Habitat's ...

Ralph does a terrific job introducing the investor to the sometimes complicated world of bonds and bond mutual funds. For any investor who is looking to round out an equity portfolio with fixed income products, or who wants to invest entirely in bonds, this book is absolutely the best place to start.

Excellent reading....
Even as a life-long Republican, I find it hard to disagree with many of the arguments in this obviously Liberal writing. I highly recommend the book. If the book fails anywhere, it is in providing direct examples of the transfer of wealth that takes place -- from the taxpayers to campaign contributors -- as a result of our public electoral system being financed by private money.

Civil Rights Gangster
This is a must read for anyone into "Apocalypse Culture" style literature. Whether or not you believe Greg's claims of CIA & FBI mind control is irrelevant. It's a wild ride well worth taking. True, the book contains poor grammar and spelling on almost every page. Get past that and you're in for a metaphysical, schizophrenic detective story on par with VALIS or A Scanner Darkly. Excellent analysis!
George Galster and his team of researchers have done it again! This book represents a quantum leap forward in understanding urban housing markets, particularly the effects of subsidized housing on surrounding neighbohroods. I suggest this book to anyone who want to understand housing policy and the structure of cities in the 21st century.

Absolutely Fascinating!
As an urban planning student (B.A. 2003), who is especially interested in public housing, I have read dozens of books and articles on the subject. Reclaiming Public Housing is the best I have read yet. The stories of the three redeveloped public housing projects (one was a failure, one a widely-recognized success, and one a mixed-success) are beautifully written - rich with detail and imagery. ...

Carter scores one for the Real World
Its title aside, this is a book about children, an empirical treatment contra the entrenched, racially tinged "Poor Kids Can't Learn" bias. What makes these success stories more than just a "position paper" for policymakers is the human face Carter puts on seven school principals who, far from being "out of touch" with students, go to great lengths to ensure their radical accessibility. Carter ...
