Amazing Days Of Abby Hayes, The #04: Have Wheels, Will Travel (Amazing Days Of Abby Hayes) 15 reviews Anne Mazer
Scholastic Paperbacks, 2001
'Amazing Days of Abby Hayes' are GREAT!!! This and the rest of the Abby Hayes series are amazing! The books are wonderful and very cool. There is one problem though: Anne Mazer (the writer) repeats the same thing over and over. Like about Abby's friend Jessica and how she has asthma. That kind of gets frustrating. But, overall, this book is great!

Ben Takes a Chance (Making Out #11) 12 reviews Katherine Applegate
Avon, 1999
Eleventh Book in the Making Out Series For supposedly being a book about 19-year-old Benjamin Passmore (one of my favorite characters in the Making Out series), "Ben Takes a Chance" seldom revolves around him. Instead, it follows the various love problems brewing among the other Chatham Island teens. For starters, Zoey Passmore was found making out with Aaron Mendel in "Nina Shapes Up" (#10) while she was still dating Lucas Cabral ...

Gollum: A Behind the Scenes Guide of the Making of Gollum (The Lord of the Rings) 16 reviews Andy Serkis
Houghton Mifflin, 2003
Gollum and Smeagol and Andy...... This is a fascinating account of Andy Serkis's experience in creating the CG character, Gollum, as well as his actual "on screen" time as the ring-beguiled Smeagol in the opening scene of The Return of The King.
Andy's tale is engaging and honest, relating the hardships he endured in bringing the character to life and only increases my respect for him as a performer and a human being. It ...

Ben's in Love (Making Out #4) 16 reviews Katherine Applegate
Avon, 1998
Read this Awesome book! Ben's In Love is one of my favorites in the Making Out books that I have read so far. It has a lot of emotions in it, with Nina coming out of her protected shell of emotions, Claire finally deciding what she wants to do with the "situation" with Josh, Lucas being homecoming king, and Chris getting hurt, and with that, Aisha discovering her true feelings about Chris. Also Ben and Nina's ...

Milo and the Magical Stones 8 reviews Marcus Pfister
North-South, 1997
Helping kids to Write/ the concept of ending a story This book so clearly shows students/children the effect the ending has on a story. It's great if you're teaching students or your own child how to write stories. Just reading it gives them perspective and, with each of their stories, they can write two different endings and choose the better one. This book is FANTASTIC! Get it!

Orange Avenue Publishing, 2007
Great book!! This book is absolutely true and contains realistic ways to talk to your mother! As a teenage girl, I don't always get along with my mom and sometimes I am unsure of how to confront her on certain issues. Talking to friends doesn't always work, because they don't know my mom as well as I do. This book gives descriptions of certain moods moms may be in and how to react and help her. I recommend ...

Celebrates the resourceful spirit of African children As I prepared to visit Zambia to learn how communities are coping with the HIV/AIDS pandemic, I tried to help the children of our church understand what life is like in Africa. "You mean they are so poor nobody buys them toys?" Galimoto not only gives a realistic picture of life in a small African village, it celebrates the resourceful spirit of African children. Our young people were filled with ...
