Maxfield Parrish: The Masterworks 5 reviews Alma Gilbert, Maxfield Parrish
Ten Speed Pr, 1992
My Favorite Coffee Table Book Fabulous retrospective of Maxfield Parrish's finest work. The illustrations are superb. This book is expensive, but worth the money. If you're looking for a price guide, I suggest Erwin Flack's book. -- James Halperin, sf novelist and Parrish fanatic.

Poems of Childhood 5 reviews Eugene Field
C. Scribner's Sons, 1904
A wonderful and classic book! One of my very favorite books of my childhood. The copy I have was given to my mother in her childhood, and she read the poems to me. This book introduced me to not only some wonderful poetry, but also to the amazing artwork of Maxfield Parrish. I'm delighted that Scribner's has reissued the book in the original design.

Maxfield Parrish 10 reviews Coy Ludwig
Schiffer Publishing, 1997
Abundant, gorgeous color plates. I, like you, want to own Daybreak--perhaps more so than any other painting. Sometimes an illustration entertains, perhaps greatly. Some evoke admiration, even gaping admiration. In the case of several Parrish paintings, admiration is merely the aftertaste of a much more powerful emotion: the craving to be in the space the artist has created, to have or to be the characters therein. A desire ...

Does It Really Matter What I Believe about God? 2 reviews David Maxfield
Tate Publishing & Enterprises, 2007
It matters to God what we believe This book is all about God and the various belief systems. It clearly illustrates that all paths do not lead to God. It is easy to read and follow. You can just go to a section that interests you to find out more about the various world religions, and other beliefs, but reading the entire book really gives you the whole picture. I especially like the last 1/3rd of the book that demonstrates ...

Maxfield Parrish and the Illustrators of the Golden Age 2 reviews Margaret E. Wagner, Maxfield Parrish
Pomegranate Communications, 2000
A superbly presented and informative art history. Many books have profiled Parrish's art; Maxfield Parrish and the Illustrators of the Golden Age reproduces 70 works of Parrish and other illustrators of his times, using the archives of the Americana Illustrators Gallery and other resources to present works by a range of painters. Chapters provide plenty of text history of the works of these illustrators and their related styles. Highly ...

The Definitive Guide to How Computers Do Math : Featuring the Virtual DIY Calculator 8 reviews Clive Maxfield, Alvin Brown
Wiley-Interscience, 2005
Once again Cive does it! I am a hobbyist and have found this book invaluable. I have a Computer Science background and so have no problems with the concepts. Even if you do have problems with the concepts, the Labs are a walk-through
and one can then kind of 'get it'.
Very satisfied and having fun!

Dream Days 2 reviews Kenneth Grahame
Ten Speed Press, 1993
A rare gem indeed If you are picking up this book, you most likely have read its companion, THE GOLDEN AGE. This book continues the exploits of the children introduced in the first volume. Veddy, veddy English. Completely delightful, though. I am not sure today's children would enjoy this book. The 19th Century British-isms will probably be quite tedious to any but the most precocious of children. And nothing ...

Bebop to the Boolean Boogie: An Unconventional Guide to Electronics (with CD-ROM), Second Edition 13 reviews Clive Maxfield
Newnes, 2002
Great Guide For The Electronically Perplexed I grew up watching my neighbor, a mechanic, work on cars and it helped me pick up the basics. When I would try to take apart a transistor radio and figure out how it worked I was left with an assortment of colorful bits and no clues. This book is the remedy for my total ignorance of things electronic. Just how good it is I do not know due to my lack of knowledge in the field. I reccomend it to ...

A therapist's opinion As a county employee and licensed clinician who has been using EMDR for the past 4 years this book has been a valuable tool. The clients I see cover a wide spectrum of not only diagnosies but severity as well. This book has helped me in looking for the avenues that allow the use of EMDR treatment. Guildcraft (d20 System) 1 review et al Chris Maxfield
Bastion Press, 2002
Guildcraft a great new approach for characters This book is a good start to a much broader way of doing things. I really loved the whole approach and hope they come out with more supplements that follow the way of adding features to existing characters. The background material for each guild is well done and is just enough to use without bogging you down. Give this book a try especially if you aren't finding prestige classes to your liking.

Electronics for Neurobiologists 1 review Paul B. Brown, Howard Moraff, ...
MIT Press, 1973
Superb in coverage and detail This was just a superb book on electronics and electronic instrumentation for neurobiologists, who often work with sensitive equipment that often doesn't want to behave. Covering basic theory, circuits, devices, and equipment, it provided an excellent introduction, without getting too technical and maintaining its readable style, which was very much appreciated for those of us who were not ...

Gatekeepers of Growth 1 review Sylvia Maxfield
Princeton University Press, 1998
An excellent comparative study of central bank independence The increasing insulation of monetary policy-making process from the executive branch of government corresponds to the expansion of financial market. In this lease explored field, Maxfield examines the contending arguments on ...

Carla and the Wolves If you like your murders on ice, try this one on for size: Call girl Carla tries to play house with her idealistic guy in Alaska--and winds up killing him with a pitchfork. The Golden Age (Art of Maxfield Parrish Series) 1 review Kenneth Grahame
Ten Speed Press, 1993
K. Grahame Examines Childhood Kenneth Grahame's rich, elegant writing make "The Golden Age" a joy to read and reread. While it is a story of children in late Victorian England, it is not a childish book. Rather, it is an examination of how children view the world and are confounded by the actions of the adults around them. Grahame had a wonderful knack for presenting the child's point of view without being cutesy or ...
