Very enjoyable and inspirational read.
My book club loved this book! It's sweet and well written. I read it in one sitting. The story line is engrossing, it's also inspirational, although not in a didactic, boring way. We became invested in the characters, their interactions and the final satisfying resolution of the plot. There's also some humor in its spoofing of yoga and "new age stuff," which, as a yoga teacher, I relished.

This is how I want my children to be raised. Mr. Rogers is more than a cultural icon, he's a man who has though long and hard about what it's like to be a little person in a big person's world. What a wonderful theory for guiding a youngster through life. I hope I can live up to Mr. Roger's model of how to behave as a parent and in life.

Books about the angst of the teen age are all over the shelves. Comedy is a rare art among writers of young adult literature. Mr. Fred is, hands down, the funniest book on the shelves of my library. Kids always see substitutes as comic figures, and are easily lured into checking this one out.
