Ophelia's Mom: Loving and Letting Go of Your Adolescent Daughter
Nina Shandler
Three Rivers Press
, 2003
MOTHERS TALK BACK! In 1999 Ophelia Speaks , Sara Shandler’s collection of writings by and about adolescent girls, became a bestseller. Two years later, Nina Shandler, Ed.D., psychologist by profession and Sara’s mother, invited mothers of adolescent girls from all over the country to talk back, giving them the chance, perhaps for the first time, to speak out about feelings too often considered taboo. Culled from written ...

Essays of the joys of motherhood and spirituality.
Elizabeth Barkeley lovingly expresses the joys and demands of raising a family with love and spirituality. Her insights remind me of Gift from the Sea by Ann Murrow Lindberg. Full of short essays about things like accepting a permanently changed "mommy body" to precious interactions with her daughters. In the forward of the book, she says that she doubts that non-christians will appreciate ...

Teaching Respect
Writing both as a psychologist and as a parent who doesn't always completely understand her own daughter, Debra Whiting does a fine job explaining the need to respect our daughters as they "cross the bridge" into adulthood. The time spent working with mothers and daughters, as well as in informal research is evident as Whiting acknowledges "there are as many ways to raise a daughter as there are ...

EXCELLENT Indian Romance
If you like a sexy Indian hero and a good hearted innocent heroine you will LOVE this book. I haven't read any books quite like this one. I felt like I was right there with Fire Talon and Rebecca during their incredible journey. By far one of the best books I've ever read. Thank you Ms. French for the hours of entertainment. The only bad thing about this book is that I did not want it to end. ...

helpful aid for moms
the biggest complaint about this book has been that it focuses too much on spiritual things; well for those who don't know, the auther writes christian books and so quoting scripture and using the bible to help inspire moms just goes w/ the territory:) i found her refreshing as she both acknowledges the challenges faced by moms and then through a variety of suggestions, helps tackel those ...

Wonderful story. Intense emotions.
"He done her wrong" and she found out. I didn't want it to end. Robert's passion at the end was mesmerizing. This passion made him one of my favorite types of romance novel heroes. Definitely recommended. Sexual language: mild. Number of sex scenes: ten. Setting: current day small town in Alabama. Copyright: 1994. Genre: contemporary romance with a little suspense.
