Clinical Anatomy and Physiology for Veterinary Technicians2 reviews
Thomas P. Colville, Joanna M. Bassert

Mosby, 2007

finally!
Finally a clear, well written Anatomy & Physiology textbook for Vet Techs! No more interpolating from the human anatomy books. This book is well written, with clear and easily understood illustrations. It may become difficult to find this book "used" in the next few years; it is a book I will keep long after the course is over, to refer to in other classes. The sidebar on nutrition was especially ...

Mosby's Fluids & Electrolytes with Clinical Applications: A Programmed Approach4 reviews
JoAnn Zerwekh, Jo Carol Claborn, ...

Mosby, 2006

Easy and Portable
This product is clear and has visuals to assist in the understanding of the product. It is like a mini textbook in a little portable carry around. It really is good for reviewing and even to understand concepts a little better about fluids and electrolytes.

The Human Brain: An Introduction to Its Functional Anatomy12 reviews
John Nolte

Mosby, 2002

Excellent
Many years ago I used the great Noback and Demarest text in grad school, but books like these are a big improvement over what was available back when I was in school. The illustrations are nothing less than stunning, and the text is clear and well written as well. It's more readable than many texts on the subject that I've suffered through over the years. The area of functional neuroanatomy is ...

Imaging Atlas of Human Anatomy6 reviews
Jamie Weir, Peter H. Abrahams

Mosby, 2003

Excellent atlas
This atlas is the best imaging atlas I have encountered to date in a price range suitable for medical students. The illustrations are of superb quality, and cover a wide range of images, including CT scans, MRIs, angiograms, etc. The only real limitation of the atlas is that it does not cover any pathological anatomy. We have used the Barrett atlas for MRIs in the past, but will probably ...

Sue E. Huether, Kathryn L. McCance

Great
The book is wonderful and it came with a CD-ROM to help further my learning.

Anatomy & Physiology (ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY (THIBODEAU))2 reviews
Gary A. Thibodeau, Kevin T. Patton

Mosby, 2006

The best Anatomy & Physiology book!
I really fell in love with this book. You will often feel that you have a private tutor along by your side every time you read it. One of my favorite feature in this book is the "quick check"-right after you've finished reading a little bit about the certain topic you're studying in, a "quick check" will then appears to check you if you really understood it before going on to the next. These one ...

Pathophysiology: The Biologic Basis for Disease in Adults And Children Fifth Edition24 reviews
Kathryn L. McCance, Sue E. Huether

Mosby, 2005

Good
My teacher made this book a required text for my class. I am glad that she did, because the book is very informative and goes into good enough detail for me to understand the cause and effect of a disease.

Williams' Essentials of Nutrition & Diet Therapy1 review
Eleanor Schlenker, Sara Long Roth

Mosby, 2006

Don't buy unless you have to.
Unless you have to buy this book for a class I would stay away fron it. It is quite possibly one of the worst tetbooks I have ever had. It makes the subjest of nutrition way more complicated than it needs to be. Instead of breaking the subject down and making it more understandable it makes nutrition extremely difficult.

Rapid Review Physiology: With STUDENT CONSULT Online Access (Rapid Review)5 reviews
Thomas A. Brown

Mosby, 2006

Excellent Format
The hybrid format of this text was very helpful. It provides more information than texts with simple outline formats without overloading like a comprehensive textbook. For me it is the ideal format for a review text. The many diagrams are clear and helpful, great for visual learners. The depth of information is just right for studying for USMLE step 1 and includes "notes" that tie the physiology ...

Study Guide to Accompany The Human Body in Health & Disease6 reviews
Gary A. Thibodeau, Linda Swisher

Mosby, 2005

Best of the 3 in my course
I had to buy three A&P textbooks for a class I'm taking. This one is by far the best. Easy to understand, chock full of great artwork, and a nice balance between normal functioning (the biggest focus by far) versus common diseases for each system of the body (usually to highlight why normal functioning is so important). My CD was broken, so I can only use the online study tools, and they are ...

Structure & Function of the Body - Softcover (Structure & Function of the Body)
Gary A. Thibodeau, Kevin T. Patton

The 13th edition of this bestselling textbook continues to offer superior anatomy and physiology instruction with a focus on the normal structure and function of the body. It features an exceptional straightforward writing style that makes it easier to learn all the core A&P information you need to know. Building on the solid foundation of previous editions, this book adds a visual emphasis with realistic animations on a companion CD-ROM and A ...

Cardiovascular Physiology: Mosby Physiology Monograph Series (Mosby's Physiology Monograph)2 reviews
Matthew N. Levy, Achilles J. Pappano

Mosby, 2006

Great book
Our cardio physio teacher "highly" recommended this book and I must say that it does provide a great introduction to cardiovascular physio. The price isn't too bad and the chapters are not terribly long. The case questions at the end of each chapter help you to solidify concepts.

Manual of Pulmonary Function Testing (MANUAL OF PULMONARY FUNCTION TESTING ( RUPPEL))9 reviews
Gregg L. Ruppel

Mosby, 2008

Well Written Textbook
I teach Respiratory Therapy, and specifically Pulmonary Functions. I have found Ruppel's text to be very comprehensive and easy for students to read. He has written a book for the technologist, not the physician. The informations is well researched and correct according to the established standards set up by the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians. I have read ...

Color Atlas Of Veterinary Anatomy: Volume 3, The Dog And Cat (Color Atlas of Veterinary Anatomy)13 reviews
Stanley H. Done, Peter C. Goody, ...

Mosby, 1996

This book will make your life in dissection labs way easier
This book is a god-send to the vet student. Traditional texts like Miller's Guide to the Dissection of the dog are excellent, but the hand-drawn "typical" picture looks nothing like the mutt you have in front of you. This gives you a colour photograph (those of you who have had experience of dissecting a preserved cadever will know how useful that is!) AND an accompanying anatomical drawing OF ...

Clinical Anatomy & Physiology for Veterinary Technicians13 reviews
Thomas P. Colville, Joanna M. Bassert

Mosby, 2001

Clinical Anatomy & Physiology for Veterinary Technicians
This is a great book for students and graduate techs alike. I wish we had this text when I was in tech school. It is not too simple, but neither is it too complex. It really makes harder to understand concepts, such as the electrophysiology of the heart, very easy to understand. Everything is arranged by system, and the illustrations and glossary are wonderful. I like the section on avian ...

Egan's Fundamentals of Respiratory Care14 reviews
Robert L. Wilkins, James K. Stoller

Mosby, 2008

Big Heavy Book Full of Info...
If you were to add a chapter on anything that may be perceived as missing, you will turn this already massive chunk of wood into something the size of a CPU. I already hate lugging it around. The only way to improve on the size is to split the material into sections sell it as a similarly priced hard or soft cover set. Then we can add the chapter on TB, sure. Knowing my instructors they'd all be ...
