The Wide-Mouthed Frog: A Pop-Up Book45 reviews
Keith Faulkner, Jonathan Lambert

Dial, 1996

Fun for all ages!
No matter your age, this book offers smiles and surprises with each turn of the page. The pop-outs are delightful, and this joke simply never gets old. I've given this to "children of all ages" and smiles are guaranteed.

Wide-mouthed Frog2 reviews
Rex Schneider

Stemmer House Publishers Inc.,U.S., 1980

totally adorable....
This beautifully illustrated book is about a frog that is concerned with his diet. Every page is filled with action and adventure for this little guy who asks the question, "Do you know what I can eat?" He asks every animal that he meets and they send him on a wild goose chase. He starts off by asking a Long-eared bat, who sends him to ask the owl, who sends him to ask the opossums, then the ...

Big Wide-Mouthed Frog2 reviews
Ana Martin Larranaga

Walker Books Ltd, 2001

one of the most fun to read aloud
My two year old squeals in delight when I read this tale of a pushy frog who asks too many questions. It's a great opportunity for an imaginative adult to try out different voices for the various animals. (I suggest a Foghorn Leghorn style voice for the frog.) Again, Daddy!

The Big Wide-Mouthed Frog4 reviews

Candlewick, 1999

A great read-aloud book
This is a simple, no-frills book, but is great for reading aloud to pre-schoolers. The active dialogue between the frog and the various animals, is ideal for young children, with their typically short-attention spans. The book also introduces rather unusual animals to children, such as the possum and the emu. In short, a hilarious book, with an interesting twist at the end, and great value for ...

The Golden Mouthed: Selected Poetry of Boris Pasternak and Vladimir Mayakovsky2 reviews
Andrey Kneller

Pagefree Publishing, 2004

Golden Poetry
All of the poetry is well translated and it reads as though it was originally written in english, with good meter and rhyme. The book mainly focusses on Mayakovsky's more romantic poetry. He's no longer portrayed as the headstrong communist, but presented in a new light as an amazing romantic poet. Pasternak's poetry of Dr. Zhivago has a completely new feel to it. From what I've noticed all other ...

The Big Wide-Mouthed Frog (Book and Audio CD) (Paperback)
Ana Martin Larranaga

Scholastic Inc., 2006

The wide-mouthed frog sets off to see the world and asks each animal he meets, "Who are you, and what do you eat?" When a crocodile replies that she likes to eat wide-mouthed frogs, the little fellow suddenly becomes a "small narrow-mouthed frog" and hops away. The text is simple but filled with dialogue, making this a natural for toddler time. The story is well paced, featuring new animals on each two-page spread, with nicknames like Big ...
