Fascinating and Interesting The Mummy Eyewitness book was the first one I ever received. It is excellent at conveying information because it has many interesting bits of information next to beautiful pictures.

Skippyjon Jones Has Mummy Trouble! This is a cute story about a Siamese cat who has mummy trouble while thinking he is a chihuahua! It is very sweet and funny. I liked the mummy, Egyptian motif for my 6th graders. I teach ESOL so I get to use picture books for kids of all ages. I love it!

Mummies in the morning
This book was very hard to find. At one time the publisher said it was out of print. However, good old Amazon came through one more time. I now have a very happy 7 year old grandson. Thanks again Amazon.Mummies in the Morning (Magic Tree House, No. 3)

Lift The Lid On Mummies (Lift the Lid) 14 reviews Jacqueline Dineen
Running Press Kids, 1998
A new "treasure" for my son My five-year-old son and I did this project together (okay, so I did most of the work, but he was engaged in "helping" the whole time, which is saying something). We have completed pretty much every "mummy" kit we can get our hands on, and this one was probably the best. This kit contains a plastic "pharoah" body with a cavity inside that holds his internal organs. After you assemble the ...

Where's My Mummy? 3 reviews Carolyn Crimi
Candlewick, 2009
3 year old loves it! This wonderfully written and illustrated book takes you on a tour through the grave yard with baby mummy, where we meet dracula, skeleton and other halloween characters. The rhythm of the story makes it easy for young ones to remember; my son had it memorized after the fourth read. The characters are presented in a fun, non-scary way.
My three year old loves it, and I do too!

Lose Your Mummy Tummy 37 reviews Julie Tupler, Jodie Gould
Da Capo Press, 2004
It really works. I'm always surprised at the number of women I talk to that have no idea what a diastisis is, and can't believe this isn't talked about more in pre- and post-natal visits. I knew nothing about this until doing an internet search after my first daughter was born, and I was determined to get my six-pack abs back. If you're serious about losing your mummy tummy, this book is worth the investment. ...

Mummy Math: An Adventure in Geometry 3 reviews Cindy Neuschwander
Henry Holt and Co. (BYR), 2005
Lesson Kickoff! I used this book for two separate lesson plans. I made a game board and added game cards based on the book. This quickly became an engaging way to count faces, vertices, and edges. I also used it in 7th grade social studies to add questions about history. BONUS: my 13 yr. old and 10 yr. old thought it was an engaging book!

Mummies Made in Egypt (Reading Rainbow Book) 7 reviews
HarperTrophy, 1985
The Wish to Live Forever Kids love mummies, and mine are no exception. As Aliki (the book's author/illustrator) says, "A mummy is a mystery-hidden in layers of ancient bandage, bedecked with priceless jewels." We read Mummies Made in Egypt as part of our Egyptian study when our children were 7, 10 and 11. The back cover (accurately) says the book is written for ages 8 to 12. I have to admit I loved this book as much as ...

Funny Mummy! Funny! Hilarious! Like reading a sober/married/mother version on Absolutely Fabulous... (is how I describe it to people!) There are so many funny parts to this book that I strongly warn all readers not to drink hot coffee or tea while reading this book...you might be spill it all over yourself when laughing out loud!

Mummies & Pyramids (Magic Tree House Research Guide) 7 reviews Will And Ma Osborne
Random House Books for Young Readers, 2001
Researchers Don't Believe Pyramids Built By Slaves This is a very good book for children. It contains a lot of great information about Ancient Egypt. I read another review by a reader who was offended by the thought that the Pyramids weren't built by slaves. This was obviously a surprise to him but I had heard it elsewhere so it was no news to me. There were slaves in Egypt and I'm sure they were badly used in other jobs. They could have ...

Making the Mummies Dance : Inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art 9 reviews Thomas Hoving
Touchstone, 1994
Dancing to the mummies' tune This lively look at the life and work of a director of a world-class art museum not only educates and entertains, it shocks. The mummies do, indeed, dance as Thomas Hoving takes on the Park Service to expand the museum, wiggles around UNESCO and fights a host of governments for his favorite works of art, plays one collection against another, trades, deals and bluffs his way toward making the ...

The Mummy or Ramses the Damned 190 reviews Anne Rice
Ballantine Books, 1991
Do the chosen deserved being chosen? A novel of love, not horror. A novel of supernatural marvel, not of fantastic gore. Anne Rice is best in her literature when she tells a love story. Here she is able to have a three or four layer love story. Deep in the past the love story is that of Ramses and Cleopatra as opposed to Antony and Cleopatra. The former should be a love story of eternal wisdom true in all times and that no one can ...

The Yummy Mummy Manifesto: Baby, Beauty, Balance, and Bliss 4 reviews Anna Johnson
Ballantine Books, 2008
Brilliant book! I'm not a mother but I was waiting for this book to be published. I loved Anna Johnson's first book, 'Three Black Skirts'. I refer to it when I'm feeling low or in need of reassurance or sisterly common sense. I'm trying to decide whether or not to try for a baby and I knew she'd tell it like it is with 'The Yummy Mummy Manifesto'. This book makes me feel like it's possible to have a child ...

The Mummy Case (Amelia Peabody Mysteries) 33 reviews Elizabeth Peters
William Morrow, 2007
Why a reissue?? I love this series, and this title is a lot of fun, not least because of Ramses. I recommend the whole series to anyone who likes lighthearted mysteries, even though the later ones, set in and around WWI, are darker in tone.
But my question remains... why are they reprinting this in hardback? Are they planning to do that with the whole series? I understand that Peters has finished with the ...

The Tarim Mummies J. P. Mallory, Victor H. Mair
Thames & Hudson, 2008
"A fascinating and readable account...a valuable compendium of recent research on a little-known region." ? Archaeology . "Essential reading for archaeologists and scholars." ? Choice The best-preserved mummies in the world are found not in Egypt or Peru but in the museums of Xinjiang, the westernmost province of modern China. For thousands of years the occupants of the barren wastes and oases that would later become the Silk Road buried ...

The Mummies of Urumchi 20 reviews Elizabeth Wayland Barber
W. W. Norton & Company, 2000
Central Asian mummies brought to life When most people think of mummies, they think of ancient Egypt, or maybe South America. In truth, mummification can occur whenever the conditions are right, and the arid Tarim River basin in Western China has revealed a large number of mummified bodies, thousands of years old. What sets these mummies out from others is their probable ethinicity. The author displays with great lucidity the ...
