Classroom Management for Elementary Teachers (Book alone) (8th Edition) (MyEducationLab Series) 8 reviews Carolyn Evertson, Edmund T. Emmer
Allyn & Bacon, 2008
Great book BUT don't make the same mistake I did... This is one of the most helpful texts that I have purchased in the past year. It is easy to read and gives lots of examples as well as many points to ponder. HOWEVER, (if it matters to you)- make sure that you do not get the BOOK ALONE version. There is an online component that you need an access code to, which doesn't come with the book unless you buy the other version (I believe it said ...

Allyn & Bacon, 2008
Great for those who will become teachers, or for teachers seeking ESL knowledge. I am currently taking an ESL strategies and assessments course, and I have found this book absolutely helpful. Both for the person who is learning how to work with ESOL students, and for current teachers seeking strategies to incorporate into their classroom. The book contains specific classroom examples to use to enhance your ability to work with, and assess second language learners. There ...

Essentials of Educational Psychology (Book alone) (2nd Edition) (MyEducationLab Series) 1 review Jeanne E. Ormrod
Prentice Hall, 2008
Easy to read, informative, insightful The text is well-organized and contains several charts and boxes that review main points and provide examples of ways to apply the material to classroom teaching. Each chapter concludes with sample Praxis exam questions that ask the reader to apply material from the chapter. I especially like Ormrod's conversational prose and anecdotes - she makes it very readable.

Teaching in America (5th Edition) (MyEducationLab Series) 1 review George S. Morrison
Allyn & Bacon, 2008
Experience and Ingenuity One of the best guides for someone breaking into teaching currently on the market. I have had the distinct honor of working with Dr. Morrison and these experiences have done nothing but enlighten me and teach me things I might not otherwise have learned. He brings this ability to communicate both gracefully and pactfully to his text, mixing it with his natural love of children and his honest ...

Exceptional Children: An Introduction to Special Education (Book alone) (9th Edition) (MyEducationLab Series) 5 reviews William L. Heward
Prentice Hall, 2008
A Great Book If You Want An Intro to Special Education I love this book! I purchased a used copy in 2001 to help prepare for my (then) upcoming Massachusetts State Teacher exam in special education, which I passed on my first try. It is a very useful source of information and contains a ton of facts. It presents special ed topics in a logical fashion and has a nice companion website. I practiced all the online questions since I had to learn a ...

Teaching Young Children: An Introduction (with MyEducationLab) (4th Edition) (MyEducationLab Series) 1 review Michael L. Henniger
Prentice Hall, 2008
Fine Book Despite The Price Michael Henniger delivers a fourth edition of a textbook that joins the ranks of those that attempt to blend context, research, and teacher anecdotes. This book succeeds in the context and research sections, but falls slightly short due to its somewhat lackluster "Into Practice..." sections. The price may also scare off the typically, money-starving undergraduate.
Divided into four units, ...

Classroom Management for Middle and High School Teachers (Book alone) (8th Edition) (MyEducationLab Series) 8 reviews Edmund T. Emmer, Carolyn M. Evertson
Allyn & Bacon, 2008
Classroom Management for Middle and High School Teachers (7th Edition) I found this book to help a lot in preparing a behavior management plan. This was an area I felt school was weak in my studies at Georgia State. State has a great program, but this was an area I needed more help at. This book is filled with great examples of how other teachers have handled problem situations. Was worth the money.
