A wonderful introduction to the history and realities of special education
I am training to be a California secondary teacher in Los Angeles County. It is a difficult job but a rewarding one. I am not interested, at least presently, in teaching special education but I will have to know how to deal with students with special needs. This book is well written, and includes all of the information one will need for an introduction to special education.

Pretty good organization to this book, with exemplar examples of the teaching models in action; liked the phases used in defining each: syntax, social system, principles of reaction; support system, in the application of each model of teaching, which gives the "how." Found the instructional and nurturant effects figures for each model a unique graphical way to mentally place each model.

One of the best foreign language teaching books out there...
This is one of the best foreign language methods books out there. Although it is geared toward the younger grades, it has ideas that will work for any foreign language classroom. There are examples from all languages, not just Spanish, and for Kindergarten on up. It would be a great addition to any foreign language teacher's library.
