NEVER GOOD ENOUGH: How to use Perfectionism to Your Advantage Without Letting it Ruin Your Life 3 reviews Monica Ramirez Basco
Free Press, 2000
Very Useful I love this book. It helps the reader determine if they are a perfectionist, how this impacts their lives negatively, in what areas perfectionism is a problem, and gives ways to cope with perfectionism. The techniques to manage perfectionism are based on sound psychological theory. The author has a clear writing style and she uses alot of good quality illustrative examples. She makes the more ...

How To Live The James Bond Lifestyle 35 reviews Paul Kyriazi
Ronin Audio Books, 2007
Best Self-Improvement Program is now Even Better I'd been fortunate enough to find the book and original cassette version of this program on amazon years ago. I listened to the tape so many times while driving that I wore it out. This 8 CD set has a lot more information than the original. You can tell Mr. Kyriazi has continued to learn and practice his techniques.
From the introduction by David Hedison (Felix Leiter in two of the James Bond ...

Never Enough 35 reviews Joe McGinniss
Pocket Star, 2008
PERFECTLY TITLED THIS BOOK WAS VERY GOOD. THE TITLE IS PERFECT. I DO NOT BELIEVE NANCY WAS EVER ABUSED. I FEEL THAT SHE KILLED ROB SO THAT SHE COULD BE WITH MICHAEL. SHE COULD HAVE LEFT ROB AND MARRIED MICHAEL BUT SHE WOULD HAVE LOST HER LIFESTYLE. BECAUSE LOVE WAS NOT ENOUGH, SHE SITS IN PRISON TODAY. I'M SURE IF SHE HAD IT TO DO ALL OVER AGAIN SHE WOULD RATHER LIVE IN A MOBILE HOME THAN IN PRISON.

Love Is Never Enough: How Couples Can Overcome Misunderstandings, Resolve Conflicts, and Solve 10 reviews Aaron T. Beck
Harper Paperbacks, 1989
Excellent book! I felt this book was insightful, consise, and most importantly helpful. The strategies in this book focus on automatic thoughts, your perception of your mate, and how to foster good communication. The tone of the book is very friendly and non confrontational.
If your relationship is in trouble, or you just want to improve your relationships, this is a good book to get.

Never Good Enough: Freeing Yourself from the Chains of Perfectionism 11 reviews Monica Ramirez, PH.D. Basco
Free Press, 1999
This book is a godsend! I have struggled to get a handle on my perfectionism all my life. Dr. Ramirez's explanation of the idea that there are different types of perfectionism, and that people can be perfectionists in some areas but not others, really made sense to me. I have a much better understanding of myself and my relationships. The book has made a huge difference in my life.

Affluenza: When Too Much is Never Enough 4 reviews Clive Hamilton, Richard Denniss
Allen & Unwin, 2006
A disturbing indictment of Australian consumerism According to virtually all statistical measures, Australians have become much, much richer in the past few decades than their parents or grandparents could have dreamed of. Who at the turn of the century, would have imagined us living in a world where we had a car each, had a large house, and hundreds of individual possessions?
Yet it seems in recent decades this trend for consumer capitalism ...

Megalomania: Too Much is Never Enough 1 review Philippe Tretiack
Assouline, 2008
Nice pictures, could have more fact checking. This is a coffee table styled book full of interesting photos.
Some of the text could have been fact checked though; I'm not going to be exhaustive, but there's about 2-3 images of the Burj Al Arab hotel from the Jumeriah group, one shows the Dubai Open promo shot of Federer and Agassi facing off on an elevated tennis court. It's caption claims this is the tennis court of the hotel. It is ...

Never Enough 11 reviews Harold Robbins
Forge Books, 2002
I am waiting for the sequel to conclude this story! The book, I think was a great read, however, it was heavily flawed. The first obvious flaw was that the summary that appeared on the back cover was not a reflection of the story. The piercing and rings were grossly exaggerated and a little too much to handle at times. The main character, David Shea was allowed to be able to get his way with cheating and scheming at all times and that begins to be ...

Never Leave Well Enough Alone Raymond Loewy
The Johns Hopkins University Press, 2002
Between the 1930s and the 1960s, Raymond Loewy's streamlined designs for thousands of consumer goods -- everything from toasters and refrigerators to automobiles and ocean liners -- radically changed the look of American life. Regarded as the father of modern industrial design, he appeared on the cover of Time in 1949; in 1990, he was selected as one of Life's "100 Most Important Americans of the 20th Century." Whether they realized it or not, ...

Too Much Is Never Enough: The Autobiography of Morris Lapidus, Architect 1 review Morris Lapidus
Rizzoli International Publications, 1996
Standing on Eden Roc I enjoyed this frank autobiography of an interior designer and architect who gave people what they thought a glamorous resort should look like instead of what the architectural establishment dictated. Lapidus recounts his experiences as an immigrant child in New York through to his grudging acceptance as a the leader of a new architectural style. I particularly liked his acknowledgment that his ...

For some it's unnervingly, but it's not so bizarre ;-) Until last week, I didn't know the slightest thing about him, or about his book, until he went and introduced himself through MySpace, something that led to the inevitable reading of said book, and something that I'm really glad that I did. It's 222 pages of one of the most incredibly well written, fresh and original books that you're ever likely to read, a word of warning though, it really will ...

You Can Never Get Enough Of What You Don't Need: The Quest For Contentment 1 review Mary Ellen Edmunds
Shadow Mountain, 2005
A conversation with a friend MEE (Mary Ellen Edmunds) writes as she speaks. Her openness, and her straightforward and playful manner shine through. It makes the book immensely readable. Far more than "how to unclutter," it gets to the heart of the matter--being content with less stuff; reaching for fulfillment in ways that will see you through to that goal.

When Is Enough, Enough?: What You Can Do If You Never Feel Satisfied 2 reviews Mitch Meyerson, Laurie Ashner
Hazelden, 1997
Illuminating, insightful and practical I'm not usually keen on self-help books because I find that they tend to repeat themselves, use extensive anecdotal evidence or offer nothing but psychobabble. This one is different.
The authors really understand human nature. They go beyond the surface and ask us to pose difficult questions to ourselves about why we repeat certain behaviors or what is causing us to be unfulfilled at work ...
