One of the most "fair" books I have seen written on the subject.
The book was well written and took the "road less traveled" in that it presented some of the facts that many people prefer to ignore. Such as how in a good many respects slavery was an easier life than the life of a "wage slave". The book was not always the most exciting book, there were some chapters that I barely made it through.
