This book can be used with upper-elementary aged kids too!
This is a wonderful book to use in patterning, multiplication, and creative thinking! I use the book in my classroom in so many ways, with children up to third grade! We read it, then make up our own "Math Riddles" to put into our own class book. Example, Three fish had four fins each, with eight dots on each fin. How many fish? How many fins? How many dots altogether?

A Brightly Painted Hooker
Fete of Death "A Clockwork Orange" is one of the most lyrically beautiful, ritualistically brutal films ever made. The violence can be so off-putting that you feel compelled to turn away from the screen, but the sheer beauty of Kubrick's stylized barbarism makes it impossible to look away. The visual poetry of the film is entrancing. The premise is fascinating: that a quasi-Hobbesian ...

Meaningful novel
I suppose one mistake that people make about this book is that it is meant to expose the evils of christianity. That may be true, but I don't think that it was the author intended. It seems to be more of a moral dilemma of humanity's inhumanity towards man. Or rather to ask the question of what happens when an unstoppable force meets the immovable object. Jeanette, adopted and raised by a ...

Refreshing look at leadership
This book is an inspiring and refreshing look at leadership from the perspectives of two gurus from their respective industries. Funny, insightful, informative and timely, The Orange Code couldn't be released at a more appropriate time, as it reaffirms the notion that an organization can be successful, not in spite of, but because it consistently strives to do "the right thing."

A great book about believing in your dreams
This is a great book about following your own dreams, dancing to your own tune, believing in what drives you, all done in a really engaging book. The marker drawings are great--I love how you can see the marker lines. It's humorous and wonderful and wild. Share it with your kids!

Fantastic, yet complicated
I say complicated because of the language that's found throughout the novel. The entire book is written in first person, and we focus on Alex, whose language will be really hard for some people to get into. But if you read it the second or third time, then you'll understand what's happening and what the characters are trying to say. Anthony Burgess's philosophical novel is a must-read. It ...

OC Weekly's, Gustavo "Ask a Mexican" Arellano does it again! For those of us who live in the REAL OC, and even for those who don't - Gustavo flawlessly weaves a personal family history with the raw and interesting facts of this great county of ours. Wild, Entertaining Ride
Slowly, I am working my way through Florida, following in the trail that Tim Dorsey has blazed. The third book by Tim Dorsey, Orange Crush, takes on the Florida political machine. When the current Governor dies in office (remember, this is Dorsey, the death ...

Great book for any marketing guru
This book is full of great marketing campaigns and the strategies behind them. Any person passionate about marketing and creative thinking should read this book. I've given a breif description of some of the things I've taken away from this book. Always start from scratch. "...we often gain more by taking a deep breath and rethinking a marketing problem from the beginning," a direct quote ...

Beauty of Chocolat, with Increasing Depth
Five Quarters of the Orange / 0-06-095802-2 I loved Chocolat, so when I saw Five Quarters at a local half-price store, I bought it without hesitation. I left Five Quarters on the shelf for a year and forgot about it. This month, I steeled myself to read it ...

Possibly the best book ever written on football.
For its entertainment value, its creativity, its humor, and its depth of insight, this is perhaps the best book ever written on soccer. One should be familiar in general with Dutch football tactics and history to get the most out of it, but even if you aren't, it's still highly engaging.
