P is for Pilgrim: A Thanksgiving Alphabet3 reviews
Carol Crane

A Great Alphabet Book!
I love this alphabet series and since it rarely is found in paperbook form, I was lucky to purchase it post-holiday. The text is very engaging and the the facts are great for older students.

P Is for Peanut: A Photographic ABC5 reviews
Lisa Gelber, Jody Roberts

Getty Publications, 2007

An instant classic
The concept of an A to Z book has been done many times, sometimes successfully (Chris Van Allsburgh, Edward Gorey), more times not. This one is not only fresh, but an instant classic. The photographs, chosen from a large stock of vintage master works from the Getty Museum, are often stunning, the words chosen for each letter often surprising, the quotes that grace each page often clever, and the ...

P Is for Puffin: A Newfoundland And Labrador Alphabet (Discover Canada Province By Province)2 reviews
Janet Skirving

Sleeping Bear Press, 2006

beautiful book, not just for kids
This book is certainly a touch of home for N & L people. I bought it for my 75 yr old mom and my adult children. My mom lived on Prospect Street, 2 blocks from the wharf. The houses were not painted like a circus when she grew up there, or when we visited in the 60s'. Now I think it is for the tourists. Anyways, it is beautifully written and illustrated. It has simple writing for the ...

P is for Passport: A World Alphabet Edition 1. (Discover the World)3 reviews
Devin Scillian

Sleeping Bear Press, 2003

A Wonderful Classroom Tool!
I recently purchased "P is for Passport" and I loved it. This is a superb book and I would strongly recommend it for any grade level of teacher. I used it to help a presentation over world languages for a summer day camp. The kids ranged from K-6. They all loved it. The kindergarteners could go along with the alphabet and the sixth graders could relate it to their world geography studies.

G Is for Goat3 reviews
P. Polacco

Topeka Bindery, 2006

Richie's Picks: G IS FOR GOATS
I have now raised Nubian dairy goats for half of my forty-eight years. For most of that time I've resided in a small community across the country from where I was, myself, born and raised. I was enticed to move to Sebastopol, California--sight unseen--by Steven Schack, a late friend who was important in the goat dairying industry and who had adopted the community as his own while attending ...

When People Are Big and God Is Small: Overcoming Peer Pressure, Codependency, and the Fear of Man (Resources ...24 reviews
Edward T. Welch

P & R Publishing, 1997

Psychology Done The Biblical Way
This book presents the regretful truth of fallen man. 'Therefore we cannot rightly say, 'My God is not a God of judgment and anger; my God is a God of love.' Such thinking makes it almost impossible to grow in the fear of the Lord. It suggests that sin only saddens God rather than offends Him.' pg 103 'There was a time in my own life when I would practice the presence of God; then, when I ...

Fine China Is for Single Women Too2 reviews
Lydia Brownback

P & R Press, 2003

Excellent
The title not withstanding, thisis the single most encouraging book I own for this point in my life, and likely the best book I've read within its genre and length. It repeatedly assures the reader of God's sovereignty over each aspect of life while also reminding we singles of the opportunities and benefits of singleness - without being saccharine or having even a hint of false assurance.

'P' is for Patience2 reviews
Joanne Pasienza

Dorrance Publishing, 2002

Excellent
This book is the best book I have ever read. I really think it will help younger kids to learn about the dentist. It also shows that going to the dentist is not scary, and how it can be really a lot of fun. I think it is an extrodinary book. I highly highly reccomend everyone to buy it.

Sue Grafton

Bantam Dell Pub Group (P), 1991

great book
wasn't like any other grafton book... had multiple murderers, and it kept on going after the first murderer was found out. it did a complete u-turn in the end in terms of who did what and that was very surprising. all in all, it was a great book and I highly reccomend it.

P is for Potato: An Idaho Alphabet Edition 1. (Discover America State By State. Alphabet Series)1 review
Stan Steiner, Joy Steiner, ...

Sleeping Bear Press, 2005

Highly Recommend
The cover of this book caught my attention and once I glanced inside I was completely captivated. I purchased 4 copies. One for myself and one for each of our three children - to read to our eleven grandchildren. We live in Idaho but none of them do. What a wonderful way for them to learn about our state. Additionally, I placed a copy in my piano studio. It has been reviewed by numerous ...

This is Not Your Parents' Retirement: A Revolutionary Guide for a Revolutionary Generation1 review
Patrick P. Astre

Entrepreneur Press, 2005

Good view of the modern situation
I think he really means grand parents, not parents. Or, then again, what he is really referring to is perhaps only a dream of what should have been. At any rate, the old story is going to work for a giant company, working your entire life for that same company, married (forever, no divorcing), 2.4 kids, retiring at 65 and kicked the bucket five years later. Instead, my parents worked for the ...

Good job, Sleeping Bear!

Essential Exercises for the Childbearing Year: A Guide to Health and Comfort Before and After Your Baby Is ...16 reviews
Elizabeth Noble

Houghton Mifflin (P), 1988

Worth the time to read
After reading some of the negative reviews, I felt compelled to write my own. In my first pregnancy, I did find the book hard to follow in some places (and yes it could be organized better), and I did not use it. Now in my second preganacy, and in hindsight I greatly regret not taking the time to actually read it and use it. I have searched for other books, and have found some that seem better ...

Got 10X the Cost of Book in FREE Advertising in 48 hours!
I have to admit, while I've read reviews that made incredible claims about the results people have experienced in short periods of time, I'd never had that experience myself...until now. Less than 48 hours after having received my book, I had used just one of the many methods to get over $300 worth of FREE advertising. Is this a fluke? Hardly. Because of the win/win situation this method ...

The best Kinsey Millhone Novel
Dr. Dowan Purcell has been missing for nine weeks, after disappearing one night. Dr. Purcell heads the Pacific Meadows nursing facility. Purcell's ex-wife, Fiona, wants to hire Kinsey Millhone to investigate. Kinsey is a logical choice, since she has already solved one notorious disappearance. But, Kinsey does not like Fiona, who is an obnoxiously pretentious interior designer--and the dislike ...
