Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse 58 reviews Kevin Henkes
Greenwillow Books, 1996
Kid's Review This laugh out loud, heart-warming book is fantastic. There is this little mouse named Lilly. Lilly loves school. She even acts like a teacher to her little brother, Julius. One day Lilly came to school very happy. She brought something very special and her teacher doesn't like it. Lilly keeps a purple plastic purse and she wants to bring it to school. Honestly my favorite part when she teaches ...

Mattimeo 215 reviews Brian Jacques, 2008
EXCELLENT! 10/10! This is either the best or the second best Redwall book. It's the direct sequel to the Original Redwall, so there will be a lot of familier characters. Complete with 3 huge battles, a cruel monster that lurks in the dark, and an evil slaver named Slager, this book is ultimate, and I highly reccomend it!

Piggie Pie! 44 reviews Margie Palatini
Clarion Books, 1995
HUMEROUS TALE OF A WITCH AND A GROUP OF SMART PIGGIES I have to admit that this is one of those books that I probably get more of a kick out of than even the children do. Not only is the story absolutely hilarious, but the art work sort of tickles my fancy. It is good and it is just quirky enough to make it not only funny, but interesting. This is a perfect read aloud book for a group of children.
Gritch the Witch woke up in her usually grouchy, ...

Cars and Trucks and Things That Go (Giant Little Golden Book) 163 reviews Richard Scarry
Golden Books, 1975
I don't think this book can be surpassed! Oh my goodness, my son WILL NOT stop reading this book. Practically every day (and sometimes multiple times per day!) he shuffles through his book shelves and picks out -- you guess it-- this book. Every time. I would be excruciatingly sick of this book, but somehow even I still like it! It is such a great "boy" book and has tons and tons of great trucks, tractors, military vehicles, snow ...

House rabbit handbook: How to live with an urban rabbit 69 reviews Marinell Harriman
Drollery Press, 1991
A must have for house rabbit owners If you are only going to purchase one book about house rabbits this should be the one. I have purchased several and taken several out of the library and this is still the first one I pick up when I need information.

The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear (Child's Play Library) 128 reviews Don Wood
Masters Press, 1997
My three-year-old's favorite book My uncle's girlfriend bought this book for my three year old daughter last week, and my daughter has barely put the book down since. She "reads" it about 40 times a day and now has it memorized. She likes to comment on the mouse's facial expressions and thoughts. Not since, Who Sank the Boat? (Paperstar) has she been this captivated with a book. I am thrilled that my little speech and ...

True Story of the 3 Little Pigs 155 reviews Jon Scieszka
Viking Children's Books, 1991
Great Read I read this book in grammar school n' just absolutely loved it! It's funny n' witty. So I bought it for my young niece to enjoy the same experience I did as a child n' she just loves it too, even if her favorite pic in the book is of the lil' piggies butt in the air! Definitely a great read, and a must buy for any age.

Martin the Warrior 262 reviews Brian Jacques
Listening Library, 1999
amazing This is in my opinion the best book of a simply amazing series.
It follows the story of Martin the Warrior, a legendary character in the Redwall series.
Although it wasn't the first book written in the series chronologically, it's probably the best to read first - and if you were to only read a single Redwall book it should be this.
Courage, honor, romance, adventure, revenge...this book ...

Salamandastron 134 reviews Brian Jacques
Demco Media, 1994
Astounding and suspensful!!!! Yet again, Brian Jacques has created another wonderful tale of war, adventure, laughter, and a whole lot of good cooking. With a combination of vivid description and a suspenseful plot, this book is a great read. The story is set in several places, which include Redwall, Mossflower woods, and Salamandastron. This story is told in several different character's points of view, which gives it an ...

A Visitor for Bear 29 reviews Bonny Becker
Candlewick, 2008
A terrific book for parents and kids This is the first review I have written, but I feel that I must share what a terrific book this is. My mom (a retired librarian) gave this book as a gift for our 2 1/2 year old daughter and we both fell in love with it. The story is so sweet and full of humor. The pictures are hilarious. And the mouse! We love that mouse who is small, gray and bright-eyed! I have bought this book as a gift ...

An Amazing Little Book We love this book- it is just amazing! It captures your heart; wonderful story, excellent illustrations and such warm writing style.
There is not much text but you can make up your own stories just by looking at the illustrations. We love the postcard from Spain, every time we read it we go "ole!" :)

There Is a Bird On Your Head! (An Elephant and Piggie Book) 33 reviews Mo Willems
Hyperion Book CH, 2007
This is what my first grade students have to say about the book. IN the book There is a Bird on Your Head by Mo Willems Gerald has a bird on his head. He does not like it. Piggy tries to tell him it is ok. I like this book because it reminds me of My Friend is Sad when the bird goes on the Piggies head. I think if you like funny books you will definately like this one. It is a hillarious book because Gerald goes AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Eugenia Bartell Montauk A charming classic story for all ages! I have given this very special book to children and to adults as gifts! It reminds me of Roald Dahl's "children's" book, Fantastic Mr. Fox, another bewitching, delightful book, easily cherished by all who love animals. I wish both authors would write another book!!

The True Meaning of Smekday 29 reviews Adam Rex
Hyperion Book CH, 2007
Merry Smekday! I can't believe I haven't written a review of this book already! It became one of my favorite books as soon as I had closed the cover. The only things about it that made me sad were (1) that it was over, and (2) that my daughter, at 20, was too old to be read to!
Yes, the book is a bit irreverent (which bothers me not at all but I know might bother others) but it is incredibly funny and also ...

Mouse Paint 37 reviews Ellen Stoll Walsh
Voyager Books, 1995
A great mix of humor, cuteness and learning An ingenious, droll little children's book intended to teach them about colors. At ten months, my son is too young to appreciate it very much, but I read it to him anyway just so I get the chance to enjoy its storytelling, artwork, didactic skill, and humor.
