Pirate Pete 1 review Nick Sharratt
Walker Books Ltd, 2007
Great Interactive Book My three year old and I have such a great time changing the story, acting it out,and making up voices for the characters. We've even combined American Sign Language and our own "Signs" to help enhance the story. What a great way to read with your child and be involved in their vocabulary development, joy of learning and just having a great time with a book! Two thumbs way up!

Southern Illinois University Press, 2003
History of the Buccos up to 1947 First published in 1948 as part of Putnam's baseball team history series, Fred Lieb's book is a good summary account of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Pittsburgh fielded professional baseball clubs as early as the 1880s, and became part of what became the National League in 1887. On the Go With Pirate Pete and Pirate Joe (Easy-to-Read, Puffin) 2 reviews Ann Edwards Cannon
Puffin, 2002
Ho Ho Ho and a bottle of pop! My kids love this book. They are not ready to read it themselves, but they have enjoyed it being read to them. They are four and five years old. They find this book very funny, especially as the characters are pirates afraid of the water, driving a van instead of a ship and with pets that make fun of their efforts. My kids picked up phrases from this book and they quote it often. This is a ...

Usborne Books, 2003
Fun, interactive story My son loves this book. The puzzles, mazes and hidden clues are challenging, but not too difficult for him at age 3 1/2. He has no trouble following Uncle Pete, Mary and Zak through their pirate adventures. We are looking forward to reading other books in this series.

Pirate Pete 19 reviews Kim Kennedy
Harry N. Abrams, 2002
Shiver me timbers, buy this book! My oldest started with this series at 2, he will be 3 soon. He asks to be read at least one of these books daily. He insists on being Pirate Pete for Halloween and Mardi Gras. The stories are cute and he looks through his hand like a spyglass when looking for the Seafairy Sapphire in the Giant Adventure title. He is always engrossed in every page.
The illustrations are gorgeous. We can ...
