Richard Scarry's Please & thank-you book
Richard Scarry's Please and Thank You Book (Pictureback(R)) I originally bought this book for my son and now I'm buying it for my grand son. It is an excellent book, kids love it and it teaches good values. All the Richard Scarry books are excellent! They hold the child's attention and they learn without realizing it. I always enjoyed them as well, they are fun for the adult to read to their ...

This is the book other biology texts want to be when they grow up
Hands down, Campbell's Biology is the most beautifully written and illustrated biology textbook on the market and has remained so through many, many editions. I am a plant biologist and was pleased to see that even at the introductory level, this book gave plant life equal prominence with animal biology. If you want to fall in love with biology, this is the text to get you there. Campbell and ...

A Wonderful Romantic Suspense
Cilla McGowan spent her childhood pretending to be someone she was not. She was a child star in a long running family television show. When the show was cancelled, she picked up other acting jobs, did a few CD's and cameo appearances, but it didn't take Cilla long to realize her acting career was over. With more relief than regret, Cilla tried several alternative careers until she hit upon the ...

I finished Wild quickly.
and for me - Jon Krakauer's writing is the kind of stuff that makes for late nights and tired workdays. I can't pay him a higher compliment. This one was a bit different than his other efforts in that Krakuer plays more the role of detective/sociologist rather than an an insightful expedition biographer. However, the story was as rivetting and perhaps even more powerful. I'm anxiously awaiting ...

Interesting Storyline
I don't think I ever read this particular storyline before and I felt myself torn. I didn't love the book or dislike it. It doesn't have much depth but then most romantic/thrillers don't so being entertained is the most I can hope for. Most of the book is about the 2 characters; The Assasin and the Mistress. Could they be redeemable? Perhaps! I think some reviewers have trouble with someone ...

East of Eden - A beautifully written classic
East of Eden is a sheer delight. Fully drawn characters and historical information, biblical themes and engaging drama make this a wonderful read. I highly recommend this book. Don't be intimidated by the length; it is fast reading.

Excellent book, very practical for the business professional
I teach organizational behavior classes where we review Myers Briggs and DISC assessments. This book covers Myers Briggs individual types in a straight forward and easy to digest format. It's review of 4 groups of personalities, the Guardians (SJ), Artisans (SP), Rationals (NT), and Idealists (NF), will help on both a professional and personal level. He defines their many traits of temperament ...

Excellent Introductory text for Accounting
Given how dry a subject Accounting can be (especially for non-Accounting majors) - this book really was fantastic. It serves up excellent examples, has a modern, graphic and splashy style that made it easy to follow along and refer back to key terms, and I liked the tie-ins to business in the general commentary. It's a great text for a self-paced course like an online accounting course offered ...

Helping put an end to my mike fright.
Should be required reading for all begining private pilots and some old pros could use it too. Clear and to the point. This will take you beyond just simple communication etiquette. I found the glossary alone to be worth the price of Bob Gardner's book. Communicating clearly makes all of us better and safer pilots.

Entertaining
I tore through all 330 pages in just a few days. I was fascinated by the story. It was refreshing to read soemthing so different; I couldn't put it down. Martel really did a fabulous job with this book. He gives the reader vivid imagery without being wordy. He keeps things entertaining throughout! This book was a little outside my traditional reading genre, but I absolutely loved it.

An indespensible reference to real American History
When I was in school, history was one of the most boring topics on the menu. The books were dry as dust and the "learning process" was little more than rote memorization. As a senior, I finally encountered one good teacher who went off the curriculum. That changed my life, and I took a degree (as well as additional graduate work) in history. When I saw this book, I was stunned. I couldn't ...

Full Frontal Feminsim
Jessica Valenti has educated me on what young women are experiencing today in terms of mixed messages from our society. The book is positive. I would recommend it to older women as much as younger women and teens. I purchased a copy for a 19 yo girl friend to read. Times have changed, and not necessarily for the better, since my teenhood in the 70's.

Get Fuzzy - Get Laughing!
Darby Conley is so talented that it's really hard to imagine a world without talking pets. Satchel, the Canadian-born Lab-Sharpei mix is so mixed up that anything that Bucky doesn't hit him with point-blank just goes completely over his head. Rob is the poor sap who's stuck with these two complete idiots as pets/room mates. If he's not cleaning up choked-up hairballs mixed with rubberbands, ...

Works great, really
To start with I do have PE. I think this is a most outstanding book. It approaches the problem in very thorough and easy to understand way. I have read many books and tried everything on the market - desensitizers, herbal pills, exercises you name it I have tried it. Nothing worked. The book allowed me to approach the problem very methodically and I am practically PE free now. It shows you that ...

Love this book!
I originally picked up this book because my daughter, 2, calls her dad "papa" rather than "daddy" and I thought it would be fun even though it seemed a little ahead of her. Let me tell you, she can't get enough of this book! She LOVES it and she gets the story. She's just 2 as in 24 months old, and she sees the moon outside now and asks her papa for it. I love it and highly recommend this book to ...
