Yamabushi's mini reviews pt. VII
Setting aside all the geo-political baggage of the day, Coyle finds his real strength with one tank platoons story in WW III. It's a shame he never went back to this style. A real shame, as this is terrific, exciting stuff you wont find else where.

The saddest book I have ever read.
I've never read a book so gripping or heart wrenching. My condolences to you and your family Mr. Walsh; my heart breaks for you.

The LOCKET, THE: A Novel67 reviews
Richard Paul Evans

Audioworks, 1998

Excellent story!
This was an excellent book! It wasn't just a typical romance, instead, it focused on what comes after falling in love. Devotion, kindness, and respect were themes in this novel. It was well-written, and kept my attention until the end.

The Christmas Box Miracle: My Spiritual Journey of Destiny, Healing and Hope32 reviews
Richard Paul Evans

Audioworks, 2001

Powerful, yet simple message
Unfortunately I read this after reading "The Light of Christmas" so I knew most of the story line but it was still worth the read. It is a simple story with a powerful message about the importance of our individual lives and the lives of those who love us. The Christian message of hope in life is prevalent but subtle and doesn't come across as 'preaching' while still delivering its impact.

Hackworth

Audioworks, 1989

Required Reading for Military Officers
Colonel David Hackworth was a soldier's soldier. Born too late to see active service in the crucible of WW II, he lied about his age and enlisted in the Army as soon as he could. Often credited as being the most decorated American soldier of his era, Hack was well-known within the U.S. Army for his courage, honesty, and derring-do exploits. Hack ranks right up their with the U.S. Marine's ...

The Best Invisible Man Story
Note: I made some immature Mormon angry because of my negative reviews of books out to prove the Book of Mormon, and that person has been slamming my reviews almost as fast as they are posted. So your "helpful" vote is greatly appreciated. Thanks, and note that a short review can be a good review if it prompts a person to read a good novel. This was one of the most enjoyable stories I ...

Animals are people, too!
"Next of Kin: My Conversations with Chimpanzees" is one of the most amazing, heartbreaking, and inspirational books I've ever read. The book is written by Roger Fouts, a primatologist who devoted his life to studying the language patterns of chimpanzees. While in graduate school, Roger was introduced to Washoe, a precocious young chimp who became fluent in American Sign Language. Eventually ...

Chances Part 1: Gino's Story CST42 reviews
Jackie Collins

Audioworks, 1991

Fun, original read!
I just love this story, it's about impossible to put down. It follows the crazy lives of several characters with love, betrayal, operations of the mob, murder-you name it- the only complaint is that it does include MANY graphic sex scenes, almost to the point of over-kill. This is definitely an adult read. I do plan to read the sequels too!

The very best
This is one of the best romance novels I've ever read if not the THE best. I loved both Matt and Meredith and all the supporting characters are special. I couldn't even hate her father even though it's more than warranted. This my go to book when I'm feeling down. I recommend that everyone that loved contemporary romance read this book

Experience Kansas
If you want to experience Kansas, with its excruitatingly boring places that slowly creep up on you and leave you blissfully satisfied and in awe of beauty; if you're willing to read long passages of flat text just to discover the beauty of burning fields; I highly recommend PrairyErth. I grew up in Kansas, about 2 hours from Chase county and was always facinated by the hills, the people, and ...

I was there during this time frame, June 67 till June 68
I found that this book was very intense to read. I finished it in 4 days of reading. I find it very interesting that the author would pick Rufus Hood to dedicate this book to. I was with Rufus the day he was killed. Rest in piece Rufus.

The greatest generation speaks
The United States of America was blessed with a generation of founding fathers who were at the same time people of action, and people of thought. They were an incredibly brilliant group of political and moral thinkers. Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, Hamilton, Madison had a profound understanding of both human nature and the unique circumstances bound up with the founding of the United ...

The book that keeps on surprising!
This book really made me feel like i was there with the characters, and speaking of the characters they are so discriptive and actually have depth to them. I'm a fan of world war II and this book brings it closer to your doorstep. I love the storyline jack higgans uses to get the reader into the story and the characters. I love the event this book is based on because it was such a pivital point ...

The Allen and Burns Show
I glanced at the reviews here to see if my opinion of this book was just a fluke, but they pretty much bear me out. I didn't expect this book to be nearly as good as it is. On second thought, though, it's not that surprising. This pair was magic and it was seen in everything they touched, the prime and lasting example being the without parallel Burns and Allen Show. Burns and Allen ...

Solid Story Lines - Interesting Reading
I grew up in Westfield, New Jersey where John List murdered his family. I remember clearly how these murders created fear in our town. He hid from authorities for nearly 20-years before America's Most Wanted aired a profile that led to his capture. This is just one of the stories in this book that would get 10-stars if ...(this website) gave out that many. John Walsh deserves a lot of credit ...

Sarek - Definitely A Keeper!
As any Trekkie would do, I got this book that's about one of my favorite Vulcans. This book is the heart-wrenching story of Sarek's deep love for Amanda, their courtship, marriage, and now his agony and fear at the realization of her terminal illness. A.C. Crispin has a great way of representing the personalities of the characters, as well as the emotions. The anguish Sarek goes through, as ...

KEPT ME AT THE EDGE OF MY SEAT!!
What more can I say? All of the money in the world could not get me to pry my fingers off of this book. In Collins' sophomore release of the Santangelo saga we get reaquainted with the awe-inspiring, business savy and headstrong Lucky Santangelo, daughter of the notorious Gino "The Ram" Santagelo -- former mob boss. Not one iota of what Collins' writes in this book comes off as being ...

Sit down, and hold on!
This is easily the best Demo Dick has written. Right from page 1, it grabs you and never lets go. You're there for every shot, you're there when the idiots who think they know how to run a military op try their best(and sometimes succeed)to screw things up, and you'll get the urge yourself to beat the living shinola out of said idiots. You'll be dodging bullets as well as shrapnel alongside Demo ...
