Absolutely Terrific
My wife and I are both rabbis and have 4 young children, along with a young congregation. There is no book out there that brings together the absolute best stories for any occasion. Surely the best book of its kind.
The late Isadore Twersky's Maimonides Reader remains the best of its sort. Maimonides was the most unique Jewish writer and thinker since Talmudic days. The scope of his writings and influence are immesurable. This book brings many of his writings to the English reader and does an admirable job at that.

Though the book is not very well illustrated I gave it 5 stars because it teaches vocabulary in the structure of blessings and prayers that you will actually hear in everyday synagogue usage. This, as opposed to other books, lets you feel that you can actually use what you are learning immediately and not have to wait weeks until you can start pulling out some words. I recommend it to anyone ...
