The Miracle of Forgiveness 33 reviews Spencer W. Kimball
Bookcraft Pubs, 1993
It is all about humility. This book is inspirational! Spencer W. Kimball tells it like it is -- in a very biblical way. His approach to recognizing and dealing with mistakes is sorely needed into today's society. There isn't even a hint of moral relativism or spiritual dilution in his words. I for one am weary of the watered-down "feel good" philosophies one often finds occupying the bestsellers rack at the supermarket. ...

Prelude to Glory, Vol. 3: To Decide Our Destiny (Prelude to Glory) 2 reviews Ron Carter
Bookcraft, 2002
Prelude to Glory Vol 3 Having read both Volume one and Volume two, I was looking forward to following the trails and tribulations of characters in Ron Carter book. And how he weaves these fictitious people into the birth of our nation, I was not disappointed and will be sure to start the next volume.

Prelude to Glory, Volume 2: Times That Try Men's Souls (Prelude to Glory) 4 reviews Ron Carter
Bookcraft, 1999
A wonderful series for Revolutionary War buffs This is an excellent series for historical fiction lovers. Set in the Revolutionary War, the book follows a fictional family and friends through the war, with incredible detail. The book is full of interesting facts, and at the end of each chapter, the author tells the reader what was fictional and what was factual, and cites the references for further information. To those who may be ...

Our Sacred Honor (Prelude to Glory, 1) (Prelude to Glory) 12 reviews Ron Carter
Bookcraft, 1998
Prelude to Glory (All 3 volumes) This is by far the most excellent series of historically based fiction that I have ever read. I was there with the soldiers as they were fighting for the freedom and liberty that we hold so dear today. I had to put an extra blanket on my bed while I was reading about the conditions that were suffered through during the winter. I was ducking for cover as the cannons thundered and the musket balls ...

A Season of Joy (Work and the Glory, Vol 5) 10 reviews Gerald N. Lund
Bookcraft, 1994
I love this series! I love this series. I have read the first 4 books so far and my testimony of the Gospel has grown so much. I'm sixteen years old and I recommend this series to anyone and everyone, even if you aren't a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They are wonderful books and everyone should read them.

The Book of Mormon for Latter-Day Saint Families 8 reviews
Bookcraft, 2001
The "Awesome Edition" My wife is a convert to the church and was having a hard time reading the scripture and understanding it well. I decided to get this edition to see if it would help and it really did. There are some great commentaries and explinations at the bottom of each page. It makes reading the B.O.M. more fun and enjoyable too. I highly recommend this to anyone really.

What We Wish We'd Known When We Were Newlyweds 2 reviews John Bytheway, Kimberly Bytheway
Bookcraft, 2000
Very Good Information This book was filled with all kinds of information and suggestions to keep the "Honeymoon" in your marriage. The honeymoon never has to be over. There was a lot of useful information for the first year of marriage. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Growing Up: Gospel Answers About Maturation and Sex 3 reviews Brad Wilcox
Bookcraft Pubs, 2000
A must have! I thought this book was written so well. It takes a basic "these are the facts" approach. It would be very easy to have your child read on their own. It is written specifically for the 10-15 age group. I felt that the author' approach was very positive and respectful. You can tell he has dealt with this subject and talked to kids this age about this subject. He puts it in an easy way for ...

Believing Christ: The Parable of the Bicycle and Other Good News 14 reviews Stephen E. Robinson
Bookcraft Pubs, 2002
Best book I've ever read! I'm a recent convert and an avid reader of books. So I don't say "This is the best book I've ever read" very often. I read 4 books in the month before I converted (wanted to make sure this was the right decision). This one was recommended by a friend at church and it has changed my life.
This book introduced me to the real Jesus Christ. I've heard about him my entire life. I've met people ...

How Many Roads: A Novel (Hughes, Dean, Hearts of the Children, V. 3.) 1 review Dean Hughes
Bookcraft, 2004
How Many Roads: A Novel Once again, I was completely captivated by Dean Hughes and his continuation of the Thomas family story. His history and insights in the turbulant times of the 60's opened my eyes to the many trials people faced.

Eve and the Choice Made in Eden 4 reviews Beverly Campbell
Bookcraft, 2002
Outstanding First off, let me say this is written from a Mormon (LDS) perspective/belief. It is one of the most intriguing books I have read in a long time. It took me a while to get through it as I questioned so many things written in it, concepts I've never thought of or considered. For that reason alone I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed this book so much that I purchased the second one (Mortal Journey).

Five Scriptures That Will Help You Get Through Almost Anything 1 review John Bytheway
Bookcraft Pubs, 2002
funny and helpful? hard to beleive that john bytheway could actually be funny and helpful right? haha, this is amazing, for those who need to be spiritually and mentally strengthened, this can do the trick. if you want a little pick-me-up but you don't want you're mom to walk in on you while you are sobbing hysterically cause it's so spiritual, this is the best. Brother Bytheway just seems to know how to say what ...

No Unhallowed Hand (Work and the Glory, Vol 7) 14 reviews Gerald N. Lund
Bookcraft, 1996
Converted me As I was studying the history of the LDS church with the intent to join but needing to understand more, my friend gave me Vol 1, Pillar of Light. I read it Xmas day, then asked for the rest. I read straight thru, loved the family, laughed and cried with them, stuck with Joshua til he found the way, cried when Benjamin died. I owe Gerald Lund a debt of gratitude, thanks to these books, I joined ...

No Doubt About It 10 reviews Sheri Dew
Bookcraft, 2002
Aimed at LDS Audience Sherri Dew is revolutionary to the concept of an LDS woman. When I read her book and as I have listened to her, I don't hear a 50s throwback (giving good grandmotherly advice but not what I need), but instead I hear someone who understands my questions, concerns and love of the gospel. Her book is well referenced (though of course to other LDS works) and thoughtful. She also tells great stories ...

Like a Fire Is Burning (Work and the Glory, Vol 2) 7 reviews Gerald N. Lund
Bookcraft Pubs, 1991
Masterfully written I was so caught up in the novel and couldn't wait to read the next page. Very difficult to put down. You can feel what the Characters are feeling, and realizing that it really happened, with the exception of the fictional family, you can live the past thru their eyes and experience what people really experienced. Very moving. It tugs at the heart strings. I suggest reading the whole series of ...

Truth Will Prevail (Work and the Glory, Vol 3) 9 reviews Gerald N. Lund
Bookcraft Pubs, 1992
One of the best series in the world! These books were amazing! It's as if the author almost convinces you that you were there. I'm a little picky when it comes to books, but I can definately tell you that this is one that I feel in love with. There were nights when I'd stay up until 4 in the morning reading-- and that's as a teenager in high school! I completely recommend everyone to read this, for it's hard to find books that are ...

Spiritually EN-lightening! Okay...the name on the review is both mine and my husband's...he sustains my review by allowing me to share it in his name as well. I'm from Georgia and we get BYUTV via satellite. In a talk given (by Betsy Van Der Berg??)at the 2005 BYU Women's Conference, this book by Catherine Thomas was recommended along with several other titles of similar inspiration (which I have also purchased "used" ...

Holy Temple 4 reviews Boyd K. Packer
Bookcraft Pubs, 1980
The definitve book on LDS temples! This is the defintive book on LDS temples and temple worship. It merits six or seven stars. Boyd K. Packer, LDS apostle and educator traces the history, doctrine and function of the LDS temples, temple worship, and temple work. His chapter on symbolism should be memorized! As with the chapter "First and Every Time." This is an essential book (for insiders and ousiders) on understanding ...
