A must read for everyone!
This is a great book, it will get you thinking and remind you about how we all should be living. The author does a great job of making you feel as though you where there with them. I even had my 13 year old watch the movie of it, although the book is so much better, I just knew he would'nt read it. Thanks Morrie for sharing this with me and thanks to Mitch for bringing it to me.......
Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Change

paradigm shifter
As a history teacher, I've always struggled to explain fascism to my students, and I have been guilty of the old "liberal = left, fascism = right" mantra, even though it seemed to be a strange fit. Goldberg's book made everything click and provides an excellent overview of the twentieth century to boot. I liked it enough to ask all of the history teachers at my school to read it. Highly ...

An Awesome Read....and worth reading more the once!
This book has an amazing way of telling the reader so much, about so many things in a riveting way. if you think someone in your life may be a sociopath-read it two or three times. Each time, for me was a completely different and powerful experience. A far cry from dry or text book. this is a great book, period and i couldn't put it down.

so-so
I am a lawyer, and have worked on class actions (for plaintiffs). Now half-way through the book, I find it interesting, but over-long and less than compelling. Judicious editing and better storytelling were needed. Also, the authors make obvious mistakes about some basic legal concepts. In particular, they confuse a motion to dismiss (defendant argues there is no legal basis for the ...

Enlightening and humorous
In my opinion, this book will be enjoyed regardless of one's political persuasion. While it is quite humorous, it deals, also, with serious matters, as well as Mr. O'Reilly's philosophical views. I highly recommend the book.

Lovely addition to the Tuscany collection by Frances Mayes
Frances Mayes, author of a series of books on her life in Tuscany, has penned another volume in the series. The newest, "Every Day in Tuscany: Seasons of an Italian Life," is a charming account of her present-day life in Tuscany and her travels through Italy. Mayes' home in Tuscany, Bramasole, was an abandoned thirteenth-century farmhouse in the mountains near Cortona that she renovated. She ...

LOVED IT!!!!!
I liked this book so much I purchased it for a friend rather than give up my copy. I love all of Bill Bryson's books so this wasn't my first. I have to say I enjoyed it the most so far. It is science that even someone who didn't pay attention in school can understand.
When Panic Attacks: The New, Drug-Free Anxiety Therapy That Can Change Your Life

"don't believe everything you think"
I've been a fan of Dr. Burns for a long time because he explains cognitive behavioral therapy/theory (CBT) so well and has plenty of techniques for using it. The main idea is that the way we think strongly influences how we feel and sometimes, how we act. When we can change our distorted ways of thinking, the door opens to greater happiness and satisfaction. Of course, when the door opens, you ...

The Bible
I call this cookbook "The Bible." I've cooked maybe a hundred of the recipes in Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone, for groups of ten to about 150 people. It never goes wrong. I love this book. Enough said.

Self help book on anxiety in children
I purchased this book so my daughter could get some tips on dealing with my grandson who has been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder. She is still reading so I cannot give an accurate review but even if she gets one tip from the book it would have been worth the purchase !

Essential for understanding health problems
The Metabolic Typing Diet, by William Wolcott, along with The Nutrition Solution, by Harold Kristal, are the two most important metabolic typing sources available today. Much of the information is similar between the two books, while The Metabolic Typing Diet focuses more on different foods for different individual biochemistries; it has about 50% more pages. The theory of metabolic typing is ...

Let Opportunity Not Fear Be Your Guide
What did the recent Wall Street meltdown do to your retirement savings? If yours is like most, you probably lost close to a third of its value between late 2007 and early 2009. This setback has led many to cut back their contributions, or worse yet end them entirely. I work in Human Resources, and at my company several employees have actually cashed out their 403b entirely, in spite of the ...

Great for Christian Couples!
I have been looking for books just for new tips and tricks to add to my repetoire and was very disappointed at the fact that most sex-how-tos are really soft-core porn. This book was great showing you how to do things without being overly graphic or gratuitous. I can't wait to try my new learned techniques on my hubby

The Best Parenting Book I Have Read Yet
I have read a bunch of parenting books lately and this is definitely the best one I have read so far and has helped me the most. I have been so busy looking at how I can change my children's behavior and trying to control my children that I didn't realize I needed to spend more time looking at how I could change my own behavior which is something I can control. I feel like a new person in just ...
