I, too, used this book as a 10-12 year old to get past the plunking and actually start playing songs. The "big note" method allows you to read songs quickly and add the chords to match the melody line. During the bicentenial there were two volumes of folk songs that were available. They had execellent songs that spanned the first 100 years of Amerian folk music. This is not the set.
