Balloonia 8 reviews Audrey Wood
Child's Play International Ltd, 2005
Disagree with most I disagree with most of the other reviewers...I used this book in my storytimes at my library and the children ALL liked it. It has been my experience that kids like stories about children who aren't perfect. Not all books are sweetness and light. The little girl is a pill, but so are lots of kids and they relate to her. Matthew is sweet...and the good kids can relate to him and since he sort ...

Elbert's Bad Word 7 reviews Audrey; Illus. By Audrey and Don Wood Wood
Child's Play (International) Ltd., 1988
A must-have addition to any classroom or childrens' library! This is one of my favorites. It is a lively, imaginative book that is fun to read aloud. I just read it today in fact to a group of second graders and they loved it so much they all clapped at the end. You will captivate your audience and have opportunities to discuss a wonderful alternative to profanity that is logical. As one other reviewer said, this book does lend itself well to a follow ...

One Odd Old Owl (Child's Play Library) 3 reviews Paul Adshead
Child's Play International Ltd, 1996
One Odd Old Owl This book has been as challenging as ever! The children in my year 6 class have thoroughly enjoyed solving the many layers of puzzles in this book. However, unlike the other Paul Adshead books we have used, we are a little frustrated by this one! We have solved all the puzzles in the book except one of the 'four puzzling messages'. We know where it is and how it is drawn - but we can't decode it! ...

Child's Play International Ltd, 2001
Can't go wrong... As a music teacher...I sing this book to my Kindergarten ,and 1st grade classes. It would be excellent for preschoolers also. They absolutely love it and join in singing everytime. They actually shout "yay" when I get the book out. This is my Third copy of "There were Ten in a bed" because I literally wore out the other two!

Old Macdonald Had a Farm (Books with Holes) 6 reviews
Child's Play International Ltd, 1978
A great way to teach animals, sounds, and love of reading We like this book because each page reveals a new animal that was hiding on Old MacDonald's farm. Each page also reveals the noise that animal makes right along with the famous kids' song. The cutouts, hidden animals, escalating noise on the farm, and the farmer's increasing discomfort make for a fun read. At the very end, a whole new slew of animals and noises are presented, just in case you ...

Sing a Song of Sixpence (Giant Lapbook Classics) (Big Books Series) 1 review
Child's Play International Ltd, 2000
Great Book! This is a terriffic book for use in the music classroom, and at home. As a book that can be either sung or read, it is versatile. It's large size and colorful illustrations draw kids attention. I have personally found it to be very effective with my kindergarten through third grade students. I highly reccommend it to anyone looking for a good book for younger kids that can be sung or read!

Scaredy Cats 2 reviews Audrey Wood
Child's Play International Ltd, 2005
LOVE IT!!! I think this is one of Audrey Wood's best books. The little kitty cats are given a letter by Mama cat to take to town to the post office. As they set off on their first journey without Mama, they begin "to wonder and worry" about scarey, woeful, terrible things..." Truly adorable and fun to read. I must have read it 20x to my 3 year old in the first 24 hours of owning it. Then my daughter ...

Merry Christmas Big Hungry Bear 11 reviews Don Wood, Audrey Wood

One of my all time favorite christmas books We meet the liitle mouse again (first book is The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear) This time the little mouse finds the big hunger bear has no friends and no presents on christmas. The little mouse dresses as Santa and brings gifts to the big hungry bear. This a wonderfully delightful book. The pictures are so beautiful. This a great book!

Magic Shoelaces 2 reviews Audrey Wood

Cute not deep My kids found this story cute. I have twins in kindergarten, shoe tying is a big frustration. They can both tie but get annoyed with shoes coming untied. This added a bit of humor to the situation, not a solution but there isnt one so what can you say?

Meal Time (Sign About S.) (ASL) (Sign About) 1 review
Child's Play (International) Ltd, 2005
Play Time (Sign About) This book is awesome! My two year old is hearing impaired and I ordered most of the books in this series. I am impressed with the the way the author and illustrators have put this book together. It is the easiest book I have found to teach not only myself and my daughter sign, but also for my other school aged children to learn as well. I highly reccommend this book for anyone who wishes to learn ...

Lost Music: Gustav Mole's War on Noise (Child's Play Library) 2 reviews Kathryn Meyrick
Child's Play International Ltd, 1992
Wonderful introduction to music of the world This book is a wonderful way to introduce children to the music of the world. Gustav Mole's decree at the end of the book should be a goal for all of us in this modern world. Children will surely want to pick up an instrument themselves, sing and make merry music after reading The Lost Music: Gustav Mole's war on noise.
