Sex Deck: Playful Positions to Spice Up Your Love Life22 reviews
Dr. Dawn Harper

Chronicle Books, 2006

14yrs, and still looking to keep the flame going
I thought this would be a fun gift for Valentine's Day. My husband and I have been married 14yrs and have a 1yr old. Things can fall into a routine so these cards were fun to add variation to our intimate life. We are not as flexible as some other books would suggest you need to be and we stick with what we know. The great thing about the cards are they take the 4 basic positions and add ...

Great gift

Weber's Big Book of Grilling108 reviews
Jamie Purviance, Sandra S. McRae

Chronicle Books, 2001

A "rare" cookbook indeed!
Here we have one of those rare culinary volumes which is actually helpful, and inside, you'll discover a treasure of grilling knowledge. Clearly, this is the bible for outdoor chefs. I sort of specialize in gourmet outdoor cooking effecting all techniques including (but not limited to) grilling, smoking, dutch oven, cooking on a spit, and open campfire, utilizing many different woods and ...

Porn for Women45 reviews
Cambridge Women's Pornography Cooperative

Chronicle Books, 2007

Hits a nerve or the funny bone!
What a great idea! You bet watching men being attentive, caring and focused on ME is sexy. And you know what? Why shouldn't men be doing that stuff for us? This isn't a about women's equality (as some reviewers have complained), but instead it's about women being treated as if we are important in a relationship! Women don't always have to be the "nurturers!" If only all men could see this book ...

Bird Songs: 250 North American Birds in Song142 reviews
Les Beletsky

Chronicle Books, 2006

Hours of interest for all generations
The Easter Bunny delivered this book to our family--total impulse purchase. One daughter (age 8) loves birds and reads birding guides regularly, the other (age 5) loves fun stuff, and they were both entertained for hours. The variety of bird sounds is amazing. There is just enough information on each bird's page to familiarize yourself, but it's not intimidating. The illustrations are gorgeous ...

The Backyard Birdsong Guide: Eastern and Central North America (Backyard Birdsong Guides)2 reviews
Donald Kroodsma

Chronicle Books, 2008

WOW!
Wow!! What a terrific book . . . the text, the sounds, the selection of species, the layout . . . everything works perfectly together. I opened my pre-release copy, intending to spend just a few minutes and return to it later. Two hours went by, and I was still reading and listening; I couldn't stop turning the pages. Of course, I went right to my favorite birds, reading the text and ...

Porn for New Moms: From the Cambridge Women's Pornography Cooperative3 reviews
Cambridge Women's Pornography Cooperative

Chronicle Books, 2008

The title says it all
This is a great gift for baby showers, a mother to be, or any new Mom. There isn't really "porn" here, it is pictures of guys doing generous things for their wives. The pictures are great and captions are hilarious. Everyone at the party will get a kick out of this.

Lotta Prints is great!
I got this book this weekend, after eagerly anticipating it for a while now. It really is a teriffic book, with great photos and great ideas. Peek-a-Who?
Both of my daughters (6 &2) love this book! They love figuring out what is going to be in the next picture. My two-year-old loves the little mirror at the end.

Between the Bridge and the River78 reviews
Craig Ferguson

Chronicle Books, 2007

Hope this is just the first of many
Craig may be the funniest author ever. This book has a quirkiness that will remind you of the best of Carl Hiassen or Jimmy Buffett fiction but with a Scottish tint. I started watching Craig on late night during the writers strike and have become a daily viewer. Love his irreverence. Tivo him and watch with your morning coffee, I promise it will put you in a great mood for the entire day. As ...

I Was a Really Good Mom Before I Had Kids: Reinventing Modern Motherhood55 reviews
Trisha Ashworth, Amy Nobile

Chronicle Books, 2007

One of the funniest and most uplifting books I've ever read as a mom!
This book is fantastic! A friend of mine passed it on to me after someone passed it on to her, and I'm doing the same for others. Aside from the fact it's laugh out loud funny, and easy to read, it's so real! It's all about how women feel so much pressure to be the perfect moms these days, and how we just need to give ourselves a break. I handed it to my husband several times while reading ...

Apartment Therapy Presents: Real Homes, Real People, Hundreds of Design Solutions by Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan is eye candy for those of us interested in home decorating. Amy Butler

Chronicle Books, 2006

Great Book
I loved this book! Nice pictures, and very informative! The patterns are great....but if you buy this, don't get "Sew it Kit" by the same author....there's only 11 out of the 15 patterns that are not found in this book.

The Pregnancy Journal: A Day-to-Day Guide to a Healthy and Happy Pregnancy243 reviews
A. Christine Harris

Chronicle Books, 2005

Perfect For Me
I absolutely love this journal! Day by day it tells me so many tidbits about myself and my growing baby, as well as great quotes. I feel closer to my baby as I learn what is going on and even tell my husband! There is just enough white space each day to write a little bit if you needed to. Depending on the day, I have written events (ie Today we got your crib! or a short story) I even added ...

Craft, Inc.: Turn Your Creative Hobby into a Business13 reviews
Meg Mateo Ilasco

Chronicle Books, 2007

Just what I was looking for
What a motivator! This book is jam-packed full of good advice for starting up your own art/craft-related business. In the midst of a major DIY and craft movement, this book is just the ticket for anyone who has ever thought, "Hey...I could do that." As an graduate from a fine arts college, I left school feeling overwhelmed about how to make it on my own. Taxes, laws, startup, recordkeeping -- ...

The Country Cooking of France7 reviews
Anne Willan

Chronicle Books, 2007

A wonderful addition to your bookshelf
The Country Cooking of France is a very, very helpful cookbook by a seasoned writer and instructor. I have 3 other books by Ann Willan, and have picked up many techniques, and learned to appreciate French cooking from her lessons in these books. This book might at first seem, with it's fresh, glamorous photographs, superior to the author's earlier books, which lack the lush photography, ...

Dirty Little Secrets from Otherwise Perfect Moms12 reviews
Trisha Ashworth, Amy Nobile

Chronicle Books, 2008

Concise and hilarious
This book is a perfect little lift for us slightly less-than-perfect wives and mothers...made me laugh about the short-cuts we take, which is much healthier and joyful than feeling bad about them! I appreciated its brevity: I and most of my mom-friends have piles of meaty, heavy unread books and newspapers, simply because getting through them requires more time than we have. I love that I ...
