Paint Contractor's Manual 6 reviews Dave Matis
Craftsman Book Company, 1985
Written for painters trying to become contractors If you don't know how to paint, but want to make money at it, don't buy this book. If you already know how to paint, but need help with business savvy, buy this book. Is it out of date? Yes, but it doesn't take a genius to read the 1985 imprint in the publishing info. We all know its out of date. However, what you'll get from this book isn't time sensitive.
What this book has that's ...

Roof Framing 16 reviews Marshall Gross
Craftsman Book Company, 1984
A Must Have Book for Your Construction Library.... I rated this book at 5. It clearly explains the mathematical operations needed to configure various roof types. The Texas Instruments Calculator TI-35 used by the author to walk you through the steps,I acquired via Ebay for $7.50.The TI-35 is no longer manufactured. But Office Depot carries the new Texas Instruments BA-II which also has the necessary function keys for about $32.

Construction Manual: Concrete and Formwork 2 reviews T. W. Love
Craftsman Book Company, 1973
Fantastic for the price! When I first bought this book I wondered if it would be out-of-date. It wasn't. Although there were many tricks I've learned that weren't in the book, I did catch many new formwork techniques from this book. I'd recommend it to anyone learning to set forms on a residential or light commercial construction site.

Steel-Frame House Construction 7 reviews Timothy J. Waite

Answered My Questions... While it was not the book I expected, it does cover the topic of framing your house in steel very well. It even answers the question of "How do I hang a picture?" :-) This book is for the DIY with a small house or for professionals who want to switch to working with steel. From start to finish, it is framing in steel.

Painter's Handbook 5 reviews William McElroy
Craftsman Book Company, 1987
The first review is my honor. I have had my copy since 2001 when I first went out on my own and it has become a bible for my business and my painting. My friends who are painters also own and swear to this book. This book covers the business from structure to employees and then from estimates, proposals, promotions, and sales. The author doesn't assume you'll be starting off with an office, two crews of eight painters, two ...
