ARKHAM ASYLUM
THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF ANY BATMAN COLLECTION, I MEAN ASIDE FROM THE ORIGINS AND WHAT NOT. THIS BOOK IS THE BEST DESCRIPTIVE RECORD OF THE HOLDING PLACE FOR BATMAN'S ROGUE GALLERY. ANYTHING WITH GRANT MORRISON'S NAME ATTACHED TO IT IS ALMOST GOOD AS GOLD, AND DAVE MCKEON'S ART TAKES THE ENTIRE STORY TO ANOTHER MANIC LEVEL. IF I COULD GIVE THIS TO EVERYONE LOOKING, ...

Batman as He Should Be
The Long Halloween is a masterpiece. The premise of the story is that a serial killer is taking down the mob, one gangster at a time. This killer has a unique method, killing on holidays, therefore the killer is called Holiday. Batman, Gordon and Harvey Dent make a pact to discover the identity of Holiday and to stop the killing. However, the identity of the killer is not so easily ...

Fantastic, DC Universe-Wide, Epic Tale
Reprinting the first four issues of the 12-part "Justice" limited series, plus bonus pages, "Justice Volume 1" is the beginning of one of the great epics in JLA history, set fairly early in the team's history, and involving reams of outstanding classic DC Universe characters. I'll admit I'm not exactly sure when - or even if - this fits into continuity; I decided from the beginning to take this ...

Batman: The Killing Joke
This is one of the best Batman Comics. Great artwork and story! Well, I'm a great Joker fan and I like almost everything of his stories but this one is really really good! It also comes in great hardcover with some extra materials inside. If you want a great Joker and Batman story, you should buy this comic book! Gretings from Croatia :)
The Starman Omnibus, Vol. 1
James Robinson
DC Comics, 2008
The classic super-hero series STARMAN, starring a Gen-X super-hero, is re-presented in high quality format. The super-heroic legacy of Starman is renewed in these stories, in which Jack Knight -- antiques collector and dealer -- inherits the name and powers of his father's old Starman identity from his older brother, who has been assassinated. Reluctantly adjusting to his role, Jack reinvents the look of Starman, ditching the traditional ...

Batman's Back
Even though this was written a long time ago, it is a great read for any Batman fan. It has an amazing story and the artwork is very detailed. You can see some of the ideas from the movie Batman Begins in this novel even though it's a different story. It is something I'd also recommend to a non-Batman fan as well.

Avoids the Sequel Curse; Just As Good, Maybe Even Better, Than its Predeccesor
I'll admit, at first, I was hesitant to pick up "Dark Victory." Its predeccesor, Loeb and Sale's classic "The Long Halloween" was such an awesome, page-turning whodunnit that utilized all of its characters so well, that I thought this would fall prey to the usual curse that befalls sequels and come up short of capturing what made the original so great. But I was wrong. This tale IS great, ...

Amazing art and story
This is a definitive comic in the industry. It is classic Alex Ross with superb art and a deep involving story with some political undertones. The story is amazing and sucks you in as you see it through the eyes of a ministers who is being shown the entire thing by The Spectre in the classic style of the ghosts in A Christmas Carol. I will not get into the story other than to say it is inspired. ...

quite good
First, these are some of the great artists and writers in the comic book world. It almost doesn't get any better than these men. Now, you had to know this was coming. There's no way DC could let those 'alternate' characters just continue to live in exile, especially since one of them is a Luthor. It had some weak moments and flaws, but overall, a welcome addition to the DC lore. Let's just ...

He's back
This trade is the latest entry in what has become a subgenre all of its' own, the multi-title Batman crossover, a successful and prodigious format that still has many critics. The melding of different creative teams can be a recipe for failure, hence the saying "Too many cooks..." This story regrettably does illustrate that main flaw, the surprising and frustrating irony being that the big guns ...

The end of the Fourth World as we know it.
And then, as Mark Evanier relates in his Afterword, the "Fourth World" project came to an abrupt halt. This volume, the fourth and final colletion of Jack Kirby's most famous DC project, allows us to observe the final moments of the original run of titles, and the somewhat haphazard resolution that was tacked on by Kirby years later, when DC gave him another shot at his famous property. As ...

Still the best super-team story going...
I can't believe that advance word hasn't leaked out to everyone yet (and the cover on the trade is spoiler enough), but, just in case: SPOILERS follow!! Geoff Johns really isn't messing around; typically, dude has had large ideas concerning the Justice Society of America, and he trots out some more here.
