A bit peaty with a fragrant complex nose and a smooth finish
I got hooked on single malt scotches a few years ago--not hooked in an AA "higher power" sense--but hooked on sipping and savoring Balvenie, Oban, Cragganmore, and others. As an adoptee who recently learned of his Scottish heritage, this handsome book with its lovely pictures of the highland countryside makes me proud. The Scottish have given the world the telephone (Graham Bell), the bicycle ...

Marvelous Mush and Bountiful Benefits!
This book was purchase don a military bas ein Germany when my son was just born. In it were MARVELLOUS recipes my entire family loved. The best one is a fried rice recipe that my son would gobble up in a heartbeat. The truth is we all mean well, but some kid tested recipes with the British's sense of amazing helathy eating (don't laugh they have gotten up there) is an amazing combination. I ...

The Top 100 Immunity Bosters
The book is wonderful. It's an eye openner to how some of our basic foods are really some great benefits. Each page features a food item, it's nutritional value, identifies what areas the food is good for (ie. anti-cancer, anti-viral, antioxidant and etc), and provides an easy to follow recipe on utilizing the food item. The book covers vegetables, fruits, grains, poultry, fish, herbs, and ...

Nice Read
I couldn't wait to get this book and once I did I wasn't diappointed. The book is very well illustrated and descriptive. My husband and I enjoyed what it had to offer. This book is for men and women. And because it was so illustrated I was able to get my husband to read it or at least look at the pictures so he knew what he had to do.

Peter Gordon's Mensa Guide move over
I am new to Sudoku having just discovered sudoku about a month ago. The other books I bought are the Mensa Guide to Solving Sudoku by Peter Gordon which seems to be thought of as the bible of sudoku and Sudoku Master Class by Tom Sheldon. All three seem to be excellent instructional books but ... I think this deceptively small book by Stephens is a GEM. This book is ABOUT LEARNING ...

Lots of different techniques to try
Pretty good introductin to Mnemonic techniques. He describes some of the sytems he uses, starting with the simpler techniques. Covers memorizing all kinds of thing from numbers to names to dates. Not a lot of detail on some, but a great book to get started with. I've gotten some improvement from it.

Wonderful inspiration for healthier lunches
I picked up this little book because my kids were so sick of PB&J or tuna sandwiches they were threatening to riot. I've also decided to make a change in our entire family's diet to a more healthful way of eating, especially since two of us could stand to lose some weight and my son has ADHD. What some others found to be "weird", I actually found to be very inspiring. Tzatziki might sound ...

Gorgeous Photos and Great Recipes!
I love just about everything about this cookbook. First of all, it is a very nice size and it has high quality, glossy paper with a beautiful photo for just about every recipe. It is spiral bound, so it is easy to flip through, and the pages lie flat while you are trying to cook and read a recipe at the same time. At first I was intimidated by some of the Asian products that were ...

Great presentation.
Great portrait of Bordeaux, it's wines and communes, written in a non-pretensious style. Since I haven't been lucky enough to travel to the Bordeaux, Robert Joseph descriptions has help me envision the region, even without the need of the photos (althoug they've also helped).

This is the best recipe book I own. So many different recipes that you wouldn't think of trying, but all are fantastic that we've tried so far! And you don't have to have a bread machine to make most of them, but they have those too...so many options! If you love bread and trying different kinds, you will love this book.

This isn't a book of blank mandalas to color. Instead, this is 52 different mandalas already printed in color for meditation. A short discussion of each mandala and some ideas of what to notice and think about are included for each picture. Some of the madalas are traditional ones we are already acquainted with, and some are modern interpretations of ideas in mandala form. They are all ...

Perfect for all of us!
We have a (pretty verbal) 3-year old, and this is perfect for her. Moving slightly away from all-picture books, this has just the right length stories, right mix of pictures and story, and each story has a moral which Buddha spells out at the end. (Or if you were uncomfortable with that, you could just say "The moral of the story is".) These prompt some nice bedtime conversations. Also there are ...
